A cool "Speedwayfan Photography" pic of Justin Cunninghame's beast from last week which was rained out at Palmy, the weather is looking much, much better this week. Really looking forward to seeing Petrol in action, along with Jayden Ward in his old car, Bryn Liddell will be there, Max Holloway and a whole lot more. Should be a big field of Superstocks. Jayden Ward's weapon for Saturday night. picture uploading

any luck tonight, or is it time to hybinate for the winter? Its all go. Reasonable sized crowd racing is OK in the classes in interested in but the over-abundance of ministock races (5th ms race starting now at 8.10pm) means I prob could have stopped off at home and been just as happy. My own fault I guess. I said I'd never go to another meeting running both adult & youff ministocks again, but I was talked into it.

Would have to agree with you RamJam the racing is OK, but I'm left wondering where the crash and bash is?
One thing I've noticed is, the powers that be that have banned the photographers who stood roughly 20-30 metres infield when the racing was on, still allow the flag man to stand directly on the pole line to wave his flags when the sidecars are on. Wouldn't that be considered more dangerous? Especially if one of those bikes came unstuck and (god forbid) hit him.

Ministock racing isn't everybody's cuppa tea, but I don't drink tea so I'm not bothered by that. I enjoy capacity fields going hard out - in any class. Sometimes the harshest Ministock critics remind me of the old story about the Little Red Hen... "Who will help me plant the seed?" not I they said... "Who will help me grow the crop?" not I they said... "Who will help me bake the cake?" not I they said... "Who will jump on board and claim to be a loyal long time supporter of mine once I'm racing Superstocks, Stockcars, Teams racing, Sprintcars, etc..??" "I they said." And all the Ministock racers past and present who read this politely reply "thank you, that means a lot to me." mmmmmm... I don't think 29p Rachel Bradbury found her race particularly boring tonight.

Yeah that's all cool and all, and I get where you're coming from but I've been enjoying the snooker world champs this last week or so on the tely from The Crucible but I doubt I'll spend tomorrow afternoon down at the petone workingmans club watching the weekend bashers playing, and the slim chance I have of doing that is further reduced if they were going to charge me top dollar to do so. I could have handled the 6 ministock races I was expecting but when it's nearly half the program it gets a bit much I reckon. That was reflected by a good sized crowd and zero atmosphere. For mine, even tho there was some good action late on the whole thing just felt like drinking a flat, warm coke. It still tasted the way it should but was no where near as good as it could have been.

Dear oh dear I actually thought watching grass grow was boring but bloody hell , what has happened to the Manawatus action attraction , apart from the teams champs palmy speedway has become a bore fest , and what the hell are those cars that race around really really fast with great big bits of steel wrapped around them called .cmon bring back the action and halve the ministock races

Yes Jayden Ward is contacting to Christchurch to race his new Superstock alongside Asher Rees, the Glen Eagles odds have probably just shortened considerably... Woop Woop, the Go Slideways Double Decker Derby Dare Devil of Dirt car made it onto the Stuff website today and will be in tomorrow nights Manawatu Evening Standard newspaper, along with the shot of Rachel Bradbury's massive crash. I think it'd be a draw between 2NZ Sprintcar driver Jonathan Allard and Rachel as to who has gone the highest at Palmy this season. Fortunately Rachel only got a few bumps and bruises and is keen to continue her racing. Cool to see some of the "lower" classes featured in the media. Check it out here: i.stuff.co.nz/manawatu-standard/news/103671138/william-humphries-takes-out-lucas-oil-series-round-as-racing-goes-into-hibernation
