And that's if Bartoz goes through the Torun meeting unbeaten, which is highly unlikely. Big Bartoz fan, but last night Tai took him to school when it really mattered. Just wished he'd started the SGP season how he's finishing, and how his league form was like, same with Freddie and his injuries....could have made the final few weeks that much more interesting. But can't knock Tai, been the main man for most of the year, so yeah...good luck to him in Torun, deserves it.

Must admit I would have rather seen Bartoz win, still it's not over till it's over. It is the sort of sport where injuries are the norm and anything could happen. The race for third should be interesting with both riders in fine form and tied on points.

Tai for me been standout performer over this years grand prix series with 7 finals out of the 9 . along with those 3 wins. richly deserving be world champion. even if Bartoz does 7 race maximum. with 10 point deficit take amazing failure not for Tai to claim the championship. if it aint beem for his 5 pts previous round. he would more than likely been crowned world champ at german gp.

Been a great GP series this year, will be interesting to see the make-up of the top eight after the final GP is raced and who will get the other automatic spots for 2019, likely a least one former World Champ may not make the cut.

Chris Holder 2012 world champion might be one who doesn't make the cut ? Nicki Pederson I suspect be one wildcards for next years series.

Agree, who makes the top 8 will probably be the most interesting part of the final round, along with the final rostrum place between Majik and Freddie. Shaping up to be "the" GP of the year. Can see both Holder and Nicki P missing out, and suprised if both would get a wildcard for next year. Januz Kolodziej, NKI and Antonio Linback are through from the Challenge, so leaves 4 wilcards. Dudek and Vaculik deserve a place, leaving just 2 spots open in my reckoning.

i wouldnt rule out Greg Hancock he still in with chance getting medal, with torun track one the best sgp's of the year. could be few suprises yet. i think chris Holder be lucky hang on to wildcard, where's Nicki at least won grand prix. means he is more likely get one of the two spots for next year.

SGP 2019 WILD CARDS REVEALED The full 2019 FIM Speedway Grand Prix line-up has been confirmed after the SGP Commission handed wild cards to Patryk Dudek, Matej Zagar, Martin Vaculik and Leon Madsen. Dudek finished ninth in the final standings after missing this year’s final two rounds due to a broken arm, but he was firmly in medal contention after winning the AZTORIN Slovenian SGP just days before crashing out in Sweden on September 11.
Vaculik sat out the opening two as he recovered from a broken ankle suffered in April and totalled seven points in the following three as he battled to regain his fitness. But he ended the year in fine form, with his dramatic pass on local hero Bartosz Zmarzlik to win the MIB Nordic Gorzow SGP on August 25 a huge highlight.
Zagar has also endured injury issues. He was absent for the AZTORIN Slovenian SGP with severe concussion, but finished 10th in the final standings in a season which saw him finish second at the Betard Scandinavian SGP in Malilla.
They are joined by 2018 Speedway European Championship winner Leon Madsen, who makes his full-time SGP debut after a sublime season across Europe. The lightening-gating Danish international finished second in the PGE Ekstraliga averages as he inspired Czestochowa to the play-off semi-finals. He also impressed for Vetlanda in the Swedish Elitserien, Esbjerg in Denmark and Landshut in Germany.
The wild cards are joined by this year’s top eight – world champion Tai Woffinden, Bartosz Zmarzlik, Fredrik Lindgren, Maciej Janowski, Greg Hancock, Artem Laguta, Jason Doyle and Emil Sayfutdinov. GP Challenge top three Janusz Kolodziej, Niels-Kristian Iversen and Antonio Lindback complete the line-up.
Next year’s substitute riders and the full ranking order will be confirmed in due course.
The full SGP 2019 calendar will be revealed soon. Keep an eye on SpeedwayGP.com and @speedwaygp social media for all the big news on next season.

SGP 2019 SUBSTITUTES AND RANKINGS CONFIRMED The substitute riders and full rankings for the 2019 FIM Speedway Grand Prix series have been confirmed.
British champion Robert Lambert could get the chance to mix it with the sport’s biggest stars next year after being named as the first substitute – putting him first in line for a call-up if any of the 15 SGP regulars are sidelined due to injury, illness or other riders.
Lambert has enjoyed an outstanding 2018 season, winning Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations silver with his country as well as the British senior and junior titles – making him the first rider to lift both in the same year. He lines up in the SGB Premiership Grand Final for King’s Lynn tonight and on Wednesday, and has enjoyed a stellar season in Poland, inspiring Lublin to the Polish First Division title and PGE Ekstraliga promotion. He also helped Rospiggarna reach the Swedish Elitserien semi-finals.
Former World Under-21 champion Max Fricke has been named as the second substitute star. The Aussie international has had an impressive season throughout Europe with Belle Vue, Rospiggarna and Wroclaw, as well as representing his country in the Monster Energy SON Final.
Danish racer Mikkel Michelsen is the third standby rider. He scored a 14 paid 15-point maximum in the Swedish Elitserien play-off final decider to earn Smederna their second straight title. He also finished fourth in the SEC series.
Czech star Vaclav Milik is the fourth substitute. The Pardubice racer is his nation’s No.1 star, representing his country in the Monster Energy SON. He appeared in this year’s SGP events in Prague and Torun.
And the fifth and final substitute spot has been handed to Poland’s new World Under-21 champion Bartosz Smektala. He has enjoyed a sensational 2018 after snatching junior speedway’s biggest prize, as well as playing a key role in Leszno retaining their PGE Ekstraliga title.
