The Seamount team didn’t fare too well. Taylor Clarke bent his car and Moses lost a plug lead in the feature. Moses looked better than last year but no match for Pickens or even Shayne Alach for that matter. Having said that it is early days and I am looking forward to how the season unfolds. Nice. Ol mosen hasn't been any good since he won the nz title in ruapuna. That night he was untouchable. Gone backwards since.

Mosen looked have good speed in winning second heat, in the feature pickens had great run slid underneath him on town bend, then later on restart. basically controled the race once he got out in front. mosen did half spun lost few places, never recovered from there.
some the new features this year especially in midgets top qualifier for the night get invert first 3 rows of the field depending on which marble he picks whether it be 1 2 or 3. pickens picked 2 inverted front row where's he was nights highest points scorer had start grid 4 on second row behind mosen. another new thing double file restarts if certain driver is leading there is caution with less 5 laps remaining it's indian file restart not usual double file. which is great move takes away advantage of outside running he happens get jump on another competitor at the resumption of the feature. just like it used to be

They didn’t do that in the Sprintcar feature! After like 4 restarts under 5 laps they finally did the single file restart with 1 lap to go. Also they only did 1 lap after the final restart when it’s meant to be 2 laps to finish!

what are peoples opinions of their naff safety video (rip off of usual Air NZ safety video)? I thought it was great, but it needs to be replayed two or three times during the night, for those who come in late (and put their large chairs in front of people already sitting there). They also need security constantly on the front straight, to keep people off the grass and away from the safety fences.

i think that all restarts should be indian file. the driver that was leading can restart 1 or 2 which gives them an advantage but disadvantages those further back in the field. they have already stopped double file restarts in the states, as they were having a lot of trouble getting the race under way again, which was happening quite a lot sat evening at the springs

seemed just be the midgets who raced with grid inversion.. was quite good made for some great racing tqs be pretty good. not sure would work sprintcars unless the track widened up for multiple lanes of passing much rather see highest points scorer off the front.

fastest off the front you see the fastest car run away and bugger all else.
