If next year was the north island's turn to hold the title then there are only 2 tracks left able to hold it & chances are that's the way it will stay unless another track decides to contract the class

Rotation for the next 5 year period is set to be updated at this years AGM.

So where does this all lead to.., Certain tracks only hold premier championship meetings Not to mention of course the likes of Huntly as another example and maybe a host of others . Then comes along Baypark ,with not a good reputation as to get the meeting finished on time . But stop for a minute ,and think were Sprintcars around when many of the older established tracks built ,and the demands they have such as speed ,and excitement for the fans . I can remember the night one or two, sprinters came to Waikaraka ,and showed just how fast they were ,a little like Gene Welch ,did in his modified Super Saloon ,and now look at that class are they moaning as such ,well yes and no so is it time the sport had a Good Look :)at its self or is the status que who govern its well fare playing lawn ,bowls and still thinking tiddlewinks like a well known gentleman has stated ... WOW now your going back in time with "Gene Welch" unfortunately he passed a couple of years ago but this Kiwi lived at his house & built his cars & engines in the early 80's for 3 1/2 years before moving from Cali to Charlotte & joining the NASCAR circus 26 Wins in first year building Welch's stuff with his son Mark driving.

The knowledge that Palmy will host the NZ Sprintcar Champs has been out they for years hasn't it?
I'm sure if the majority of divers weren't comfortable with that they could have or would have done someone about it by now.
What a tiny percentage of disgruntled Macgorian fans wants is relatively irrelevant.
Some divers, like I believe Rick Logan did, may even rate Palmy as their favorite track.
Title's should be about whats best for the competitors, not what some zealot fans want - shouldn't they?
If possible bringing in the Palmy pole line wouldn't hurt though.

Can it go back to Cromwell !!!! Another 5 years is too long to wait. Cromwell is to far away travel from North island is 2days minimum, petrol accommodation etc, this year proved it only 9 north island cars if right, maybe should use Harrisville better track..

Harrisville isn't SNZ so moving the title isn't not an option. It would be interesting to see where the class numbers sit per track/island.

I'm sure if the majority of divers weren't comfortable with that they could have or would have done someone about it by now. Nope they'll just vote with there feet, I guess time will tell if the "tiny percentage of disgruntled Macgorian fans wants is relatively irrelevant" turns out as expected.

the drivers are voting with there feet. look at how many sprint cars have entered at palmy saturday night(16) compared to how many have entered the next day at harrisville(24). if that isnt a vote of no confidence in the palmy track ,I dont know what is.

You are ignoring the FACTS! Rolling Thunder had a limited number of spots available in each class. Once thag number was achieved no further entries were accepted . Please fact check by reading the WS website. FFS, Palmy is narrow and difficult for the sprinters - just ask Smoke, Allard or Brindle - but I prefer this to nothing!

This article from the Springs website suggests a limitation of 20 Sprintcar competitors springsspeedway.com/rolling-thunder-set-to-go/Given there are less than 20 entered for this Saturday's Rolling Thunder meeting the original comment seems fair.

Given Western Springs history, you would have to question what they say/write as being gospel. Generally unreliable and inconsistent. In the above article.. ."The prize pool is still set at $90,000 across the three divisions which have now filled, so entries are now closed. Each class now boasts strong fields of 20 cars in each which ensures the racing will be as good as it gets". Yet according to the Palmy web site Round 1 = 25 midgets, 15 sprintcars and, 16 Super Saloons. And in another Rolling Thunder Super Saloons Full article the 20 competitors listed are notably different to those on the PN site list. Super saloons perhaps even less suited to Palmy than sprinters, but still they front up. Notwithstanding the confusion, the reduced numbers are actually good sized fields for Palmy, and so along with the midgets it should be a entertaining show.
