The NZ Sprintcar Grand Prix at Riverside on the 29th Jan will be a good meeting nice track in the friendly town of Invercargill. They don't need track lighting down there, can still be racing at 9'oclock in the evening around this time of year and it is still day light.Support classes usually Stock cars,Saloons (different classes),6 Shooters,Street stocks,Modified Sprints.I think this meeting kicks off around mid to late afternoon but stand to be corrected.

A few more interesting names added to NZ Sprintcar champs entry list. Michael Pickens,Stephen Taylor,Daniel Rogers, and Australian Jason Pryde driving one of Brent Gaudion's nicely turned out cars.Brent is also one of lastest additions.A few top cantabrians runners not on the list yet Matt Honeywell, and father and son combo Ray and Caleb Baughan.Check the Cromwell speedways face book site for full entry list.

Just come home from Ruapuna Speedways twilight meeting, sharpen your tools guys because i have seen Buddy Kofoid in action in his Sprintcar and for one so young he is good.Just 17 years old weighing in at 50 kgs this kid goes like the wind.First race he knocked 5 seconds off one of Alan Wakelings long standing records.Yep i know what some of you North islanders think he racing against South island guys so it won't take much to win, but the competition has lifted quite a bit down here.Any how Gold cup 25th and 26th January then NZ Grand Prix 29th and NZ champs 1st and 2nd February see you all there.

Is the American going to get his 5 meetings in prior to the NZ Champs? Playing it a bit close especially if there is a rain out.

19th Jan this weekend Cromwell club champs, already competed in two meetings there. Ruapuna tonight another one,Gold cup 25th and 26th and i suppose if one of those ended in the bin the NZ Grand Prix the 29th.

If you have entered an event that is rained out or otherwise cancelled it still counts as one of your requirement.

Has Jason Pryde raced in New Zealand at all this season? I don't recall seeing him pop up in the results.

Don't think so Percy. Has been racing out of WA, and doing a east coast thing last week or two. Did the Darley, doing the Classic this week amongst others,....so hard to figure if he could get the required meetings in.

Yes he won the feature.Honeywell,Keegan,Connor Rangi,The Baughans, and Daniel Anderson were all running. The only real hot shoe that was not there was Jamie Duff.He was driving a TQ on the night while his Sprint car engine was getting a rebuild for the coming meetings.
