This weekend is undoubtedly one of the biggest for fans of teams racing and we wish our friends at Videohub all the best for their big stream this weekend. But in the deep south theres a bigger battle looming. One that was not even thought of a couple of months ago... that was until a young 17 year old American arrived to our shores. "the kid is good" seems to be the cry that is being heard around South Island Speedway tracks over the last 2 months. 5 feature wins on the trot including.. Sprint Car Gold Cup... Salute to Goodie ... New Zealand Sprint Car GP. Some of the biggest names in New Zealand Speedway have come to try and win against "Young Talent".... but does New Zealand have 1 last final secret weapon? Will Michael Pickens, the undisputed best open wheel driver in the country come to Cromwell and take back what our American friend already has 1 hand on .. The New Zealand Sprint Car Title...But... we have McDonald, Larsen, Duff and Wood that have proven that when the time is right they can step up as well. Its nearly time... Friday 1st February 2019 and Saturday 2nd February 2019 the showdown will take place. Join The Pits TV as we bring to you live action from Heavy Trax Hire Central Motor Speedway, Cromwell as the Civil Construction 2019 New Zealand Sprint car Championships hits town. I brought both nights, hats off to you guys. Great coverage, I had no issues with the stream. Thanks for making the title accessible to people that couldnt make the trip.

Was trouble free, other that the hiccup with the presentation mic after racing.
Was a good watch.

Streamed Friday watched live Saturday. Its touch and go as to which was better to be honest. Love being at the track, but no dust, with food and facilities that don't require queuing for is enticing.

Ditto Barry B. Was a well run stream. The only issue I felt uneasy with was the brief live interview with New Zealand's most notorious real estate agent, and the 'Voice of the Springs' Aaron Drever, which I felt was inappropriate at this time given all the recent nation wide negative publicity.

Ditto Barry B. Was a well run stream. Felt they should have been doing interviews when they were waiting for the Sun to lower, rather than running old footage. Needed standring there to talk about the cars or something like. Other than that, footage was good I thought.

We had done 38 interviews to that point and thought we would give the drivers a wee break as well Cheers

We got to hear Macau's interviews in the stadium. It's tough to get anything out of drivers during a meeting. I thought Macau did well and added value to the show.
I also here some footage made it to One News. Fantastic exposure for the sport.

Helped that the landers were playing in Alex, so tvnz headed down the road and interviewed the new 1nz.
Disappointing so many nth island cars didn't make an effort to contest the title.

Disappointing so many nth island cars didn't make an effort to contest the title. What do you mean by that? Exactly that. How many made the trip? Half the akl guys didn't go. Most of the mount guys didn't go. Accept its a long way, but it us the national champs.

same reason the South Island guys dont generally travel north- cost BUT at least if North Islanders came south they had the opportunity to race the Gold Cup the weekend before and the NZ GP mid week giving plenty of racing, and prize money to chase.
