Hence I'm being quiet, lol. What a joke the countries gone mad. Well done bex for racing but she wasn't close to the driver of the weekend. She got it in the spirit of the award I don't think spike would've minded ,for me I thought Randle was a stand out ,but I see the other side as well so a big ups to her and the team around her

No I'm not actually. My home track is WP but I've been to a lot of teams champs and in my opinion this was a snorefest compared to other years. The final was the Giants/Hawkeyes. According to results it wasn’t though 🤷♂️

"The Spike" award is not for the "driver of the weekend" or the "warrior of the oval". It's more for providing an entertainment factor to the weekend's events. Something a little unique. Certainly Bex generated a level of publicity, interest and entertainment that we probably haven't seen since Team GB first appeared. Everybody has admitted she went much better than expected, and she had every females vote for a start. I don't have a problem with her winning the 2019 Spike at all. Barry B

Ppl saying Randy T should have won the Spike Richardson award, didn't he get DQ'd in a quarter of the races Hawkes Bay competed in over the weekend?

I think best two races for the weekend were the Giants / Hawkeyes and the Wildcats / Panthers for sheer carnage and balls on the line stuff thanks.

46b isn’t a blocker, but he should have at least tried. Well done chch, that’s how you teams race , 4 cars finished semi and 4 fi usher final. They put the hits in when needed! Got rid of 66b and 84b Clinical by Chch, disappointing final by HB. Jayden Ward was impressive in his ability to read and control the tempo of the race for his team. The one race he missed, was the only race where the eagles were really tested. Losing Stanaway from the starting lineup seemed to affect the Hawkeyes usual roles and the ability of Long to change tactics mid race if needed. Mike Mac was ineffective all weekend with car reliability, standout Hawkeye was Randal T and his semi final against the giants. Ethan Levien was driver of the weekend for me. Fairbrother also put in a superb blocking and attacking role. The Wildcats going forward will have a tonne of confidence after an impressive weekend.

Now Jeffery which was your home team , where did they finish and should we comment on their performance . IMHO i take my hat off to each and every one of them , win or lose .darn sure i couldnt hold it together out with those guys. Too easy sitting on the couch finding fault.

Despite being born in the city of red-and-black, I have never been a fan of the Eagles, nor of a few of those in the cars, or the team behind them. However, impressed to see just how well they did this weekend and just how clinically they executed everything they needed to do. Looked like they had a plan, went out and put it into play, and came away with, arguably, the biggest title in the sport. Might not have been the race of weekend, but a fair bit of that may come down to the fact that the Eagles planned it that way and did what needed doing.
Now, if we can just get the Tigers to resurrect themselves for next year...

As Malcolm said both were not wanted by palmy. As far as I’m aware Asher lives in Christchurch now? Both 126 and 971 live in chch now, and I can’t see that changing anytime soon. Rees has a engineering business down here now. I am not sure what Malcolm meant by that comment? Asher left Palmy when the family decided to change clubs and Jayden moved to chch for work... They made their choices to leave the Palmy club so kind of a dumb thing to say. But maybe in the heat of the moment it just slipped out! As far as Barr winning the Spike Richardson Memorial, I think she was quite deserving of it. That race against Stratford, after her car stopped, a lot of driver's would have just left it there, knowing they were the only car left in their team. But she got it fired up and kept going til the very end. She never gave up.. more that can be said for a couple of B-lack cars

Clearly a different mindset from drivers these days , no point wrecking your 100k car or risking injury for a lost cause when you are already 2 cars down . Easy to think different from the comfort of your armchair
How long til we see a Red waka team ?

Interesting how since the Panthers failed to hit the podium, according to all on the internet the refs were great, there was no pole line cutting and the draw was in fact not rigged.

I feel sorry for Jordan a hell of a position to be in , yeah wayne owns the car but gee you have a nice guy and a top racer bent over but he in all likely hood would not have got where he is today without wayne ,
