So far we have been lucky, with high overcast cloud but so no rain to speak of.
Here's hoping we get lucky and it stays away as it appears to be doing.

As far as I know 1nz Stockcar will be there few from Palmy. 32 Stockcars (from R, S, V, P, W, GM I think from memory) in the ultimate Knockout, which is a pairs event this year, So 16 teams. They race an all in race to seed the groups. Each group races an 8 lap quarter final, first 2 cars over the line qualifies their team to move on to semi final, where again first 2 cars home move their team onto finals.
Superstocks have Alex Hill and Brett Nichalls from Nelson, Adam Groome HB and palmy visitors. I think I heard about 16 cars for rnd 2 of Friday Homes Tri Series. I don't know if we have picked up any extras with Wanganui raining off early.

Is 13w a new saloon. Its gunna go good when sorted. I assume it is the same car Chris Hadley used to run as 13W a few (and a few more!) years ago. It looked like a handful to drive in Heat 1.

Dale had his Superstock flying tonight even though the track seemed rougher than usual, but the action was great.

No, not my old 13w, its the Halcrow 004 chassis, ex Todd Moffat, Alan Jacobs (3NZ), Garry Smith, so anything but a new car. Scott is getting the hang of it when he keeps it off the wall.

what a great meeting, well run, plenty of racing action. interesting watching the different pairs racing in their qualifying races and the tactics they used - that format should be the standard! Was interestign to see that bugger all people got traditional speedway-fare and went fo the other caterers, on the way out i saw why chips were $6, and Hotdog $5.50 - i brought mine with me - cost me $6.50 for two hot dogs and chips.
Plenty of good racing and glad the weather held off, had a few spits but nothing to write home about.

I think it was my favourite local meeting of the season. Temperature was pleasant, track was lumpy but had two lanes, and they rocketed through the programme with very little downtime.
I was ready to be grumpy about having 30 Stockcars trackside but only seeing them two at a time, but the format tweak this year was a winner (4 pairs per race). It was nice to see the low profile 43W/51?W pairing make it through from the quarters too.
Fun battle at the front in H2 for the Saloons between 5W and 57P (and 24W and 34W behind them), 17W Jonas England was in form in the Mods (happy to fire it out wide through the bumps), and ~15 Superstocks (including N, W, P, V, and B) made for good watching.
