This isn't the old team, This is the new Kings. Fresh start. Fresh look.
We went for colours that are not currently in use by other teams.

Uncle google tells me: "The color purple has been associated with royalty, power and wealth for centuries. In fact, Queen Elizabeth I forbad anyone except close members of the royal family to wear it. Purple's elite status stems from the rarity and cost of the dye originally used to produce it." Sounds like a pretty appropriate colour to me - long live The Kings. PS: Doesn't that 28k bonnet on the pic that Colin E put up looks awesomely painted like a fully trained professional must've done it, not just by some bumbling amateur using spray cans at 5 to midnight ...lol

And it’s a well known fact that the teams that have used black as their main colour do so in order to sell more tee shirts to ladies (and gentlemen) with wider bottoms – black is slimming you see. This new livery gets my thumbs up, even though they will sell less tee shirts….. For the time being, I need to support a team with black as its main colour however.

Drop google and listen at school. Purple dye was dearer than gold (back when the water walker was around)

I'm pretty sure the Wanganui Warriors have used purple before 🙂 They may have at some stage, I don't recall it, but they certainly don't now. They never claimed to of invented a new colour, only chose a colour no other team is currently running. Hopefully a few other teams might take a little notice and realise black isn't the only colour paint available. Barry B

With the choice of purple being associated with Royalty , Mad Marty must be making a return to the Kings.

Started with the LA Kings using those colours, the Canterbury kings then took them for cricket and now the same scheme for the super stocks, looks much better on the car than the cricket shirt that’s for sure My only issue with it is that it’s the same colours as the filthy, cheating Melbourne storm

Drop google and listen at school. I didn't study the history of colours at school, was too busy wagging at Manfield.
