and what? You asked for a link so that is one. A quick google search shows many similar ones.

They were very much limited, and I understand were only available on-line and after midday on Saturday, only a few hours before the game. That link just takes me to a story that says they gave away some freebie tickets. I knew that already. I want magilla to back up his claim with something factual. Barry B

That'd leave under 4,000 tickets purchased if it was 15,000+ giveaway. Even when they're going rubbish late in the season and out of playoff contention they get twice that. That figure was given to you by someone being a smart a-r-s-e. Would love to know the true figured, but I'd guesstimate about 2-3,000 giveaways based on that they only became available at noon on game day, for what was a 4.30pm kick off from memory.

It was not an International so was full price We had meetings this season at $25, one of which was the Midget World 30

Western springs original pricing was $35. was dropped due Demo Derby being cancelled should have been 1/2 price if Demo Derby was on. That should NEVER have been scheduled for Western Springs

Western springs original pricing was $35. was dropped due Demo Derby being cancelled There were three tiers of pricing this past season Standard, Premier and International. The Demolition Derby meeting was always a Premier meeting. There was no price change when the demolition derby was dropped, nor was there a price change when the Fireworks were cancelled.

A lot of people not normally attending western springs showed up for their support , a lot of them dissapointed with no fireworks display and no mention of this during the meeting and still charged a premier meeting price

There were one or two objectors regarding the cancellation of the fireworks display. However most were understanding of the council decision and accepted that it was too late in the piece to change pricing. The buzz after the show and feedback received indicates not many were disappointed by the fireworks cancellation and/or meeting pricing. Half an hour after the show Michael Pickens was still taking photos and having kids sit in his car such was the queue at his pit.

You missed the point Percy, I totally agreed with the reason for cancellation of the fireworks display as stated in a seperate post of mine. My issue is the springs had a massive crowd, a great atmosphere, large fields in all classes, good racing , yet still managed to shoot themselves in the foot. As a Promotor should reliase a percentage of the crowd would not have been regular speedway supporters, what a great chance to embellish our sport to these people. I’m sure most of these people had a great night out but at a higher cost than should have been. But then again I’m not surprised either when you have the likes of Mosen and his mentor Drever being part of the overall show. Quite simply it’s called greed.

How did they shoot themselves in the foot? They could hardly have anticipated cancelling the fireworks. As to price the quality of the fields was outstanding. I dont begrudge them my 30 bucks.

I don't see how you could reduce the cost for that night, when a whole pile of people could have pre-bought their tickets for Saturday night, before the fireworks were dropped.
In the same vein - if I had bought tickets to the Warriors game earlier in the week and then found they were giving away a whole pile of free tickets on Saturday, I would have been pretty cheesed off.
