Sad to see two Nelson superstocks sold outta the area and with Dwayne whitfield heading to Christchurch it must be all over at the top of the south for this class?

Sad to see two Nelson superstocks sold outta the area and with Dwayne whitfield heading to Christchurch it must be all over at the top of the south for this class? It's certainly a sad state of affairs for this class in the SI, as historically Invercargill, Dunedin and Blenheim, as well as Nelson and Christchurch, have all been eligible and have all hosted the NZ Superstock Championship at least once. From 5 tracks down to one? And how long can a class survive that only has one track to race at? And strangely at a time when the class is undergoing huge growth in the North Island, with several tracks (Baypark, Gisborne and maybe even Kihikihi, if the rumours are to be believed) heading back into rotation contention, with others already eligible seeing a resurgence in numbers in recent years. One track left in the south, would it be good or bad in the future?

17n sold who else sold up and its quite bad as barry put it. your not getting vistors. if you want to race you gotta go north. means it will be 2031 until the south island has the new zealand champs again. and the south island title something has to happen to protect that. that has history and the current rules dont provide any support from the north.
thats all if nelson goes belly up which it hasnt yet.

maybe its the restrictions they are under ie no 2 day meetings Their decline had started prior to that. Been in decline since shortly after they last NZ title really - just six years ago in 2013 - with a number of high profile retirements (the likes of Higgins, Ewers, Harwood, Boote and Fowler) not filled by up and comers. And wasn't Stanaway contacted at Nelson at that point too? Is Dale McKenzie still racing? That's a lot of talent, gooooone.... Barry B

Barry B OFF Facebook Dale Mckenzie Yesterday at 20:51 · Here it is, the race car is gone. Was very hard to let it go, has been such a good car to us and loved a good teams race! Onto the next adventure, cheers to everyone for the support over the last 8 years
