After watching the feature I suggest they rename the event Chariots of Destruction. Night 2 tonight from around 8.30pm NZ time, I expect they will have most of the cars fixed up and ready to rumble again.

"The Real Deal" Jamie Veal at Palmy last season. Jamie won the A Main Chariots of Thunder meeting at Northline Speedway, Darwin, on Saturday night (2.00am NZ time). Unfortunately mullet rocker Rusty Hickman had a drivetrain problem but I'd like to see him race again too. Great free live stream. Some great racing on a challenging track tonight, loved it.

I was part of the production crew last year and it was an awesome event. I was suppose to be there again this year BUT unfortunately just started a new job BUT will be returning to World Series Sprintcars over the Xmas New Year break.
This event and venue is amazing and I would rate it and put it on a bucket list event. The promotion leading up to the event and the the week of events between weekends are something to be desired and MANY tracks can learn from. One of the catch phrases of "more than a race" rings true its about the events and everything around it in the NT.
Last year we had a FB LIVE Stream reach of over 350,000 with an average of 2,000 people online at any one time. With Benny Bishop & Matt Nulty, the announcers, holding the show together many NZ production teams/announcers can learn a thing or 2. The support team that puts the event together also are an amazing team that understand that the racing speaks for itself so concentrate on the things that matter to the paying customer.
The Final feature with the Popes Challenge this weekend will be the best racing you'll see this year, apart from the Feature Final at The Perth Motorplex for World Series Sprintcars in February ...
NZ events are good BUT have a way to go to be GREAT !!!
