Gordon what was the background to this hit? That was massive! I wasn't there but I gather the take out was payback for a hit Mooney put on Lampp earlier in the night. The rarely working live stream seemed to show fuel spraying out from the top of the tank leading me to wonder whether the fuel cap was dislodged for whatever reason. Obviously I could be way off the mark.

That's how Clive Elliott ended up going to the repo last week rather than a 3 way run off with 1 & 2nz from memory. Felt quite disappointed for him

Felt quite disappointed for him I don't like it at all but I can see why they used that system to break a tie in a group given they were originally going to have 5 groups at palmy running the whole deal in one night. The possibility was there for 5 run off's, adding time presure. To do it at at this meeting tho as a plan that it would always be this way is just crazy. As mcfly said they should have taken one more from each group. I know ppl like repechages but IMHO the racing over the whole night is no worse with out them. I still firmly beleive that to qualify for a champs you should do it in qualifying, Qualifying heats should be just that, ya know, like it says it is on the tin

Couldn't agree more, if they wanted 5 from the reperchages then only run 1 or have a run off between the 2 third place cars

Felt quite disappointed for him 2nz was in 3way tie for last spot and was put into finals because he had fastest lap time of the 3.. it is nonsense should be on quickest overall race time if resorting to any quickest times
