18 cars all North island registered. The North island champs and the New Zealand champs should be run on the same night, competitor entry list would be the same. The future of this class does not look great.

With no disrespect to the current minis print competitors but shouldn't snz be looking at this class and there nz title status. With only a couple of clubs contracting this class and numbers not really improving should snz remove the nz title until such things improve numbers wise or there amalgamation with the modified sprint class just a thought no malice intended.

how many minisprint drivers have gone to Mods? would have thought Sprintcar racing more the logical progression... Look at Jamie Larsen, Steven Taylor, Kendall Savage, Dean Cooper and Jade Barrnet all made the move to sprintcar class in recent years and all them doing really well, Larsen winning titles, Taylor won a few. Savage been really impressive at end of last season, picked up couple of wins and put on a great display at International Midgets specially heat 2 from down back to front in 5 laps, Cooper shows a few signs he could be one to watch. so one would say how cool to see them 18 drivers in the sprintcar class in near future . How cool would be see 18 more drivers in the mod class.

Lord such negativity..as above the class has supplied the sprintcar class with numerous drivers..and others have just got into the midget ranks with there cars sold to new drivers who are getting to grips with the class an might not want to wreck gear or others gear at such a championship... The were numerous drivers missing due to having babies, being at chilli bowl work an family committments or building new cars... and re: there has been a referendum on combining the regional class of modified sprints(bike motors)/with the minisprints which is in snz hands .. Speedway is fun an non profitable hahaha Leave the politics to jacinda an co

[q.. and re: there has been a referendum on combining the regional class of modified sprints(bike motors)/with the minisprints which is in snz hands .. regional class? maybe both classes are regional. can see car owners who have invested heavily(and unwisely)in one class not wanting their investments to end up uncompetitive.

Minisprints are classed national..hence nz title... Modified sprints classed regional.. I dont know when, or, how but thats what is sanctioned .. As for money spent/ competitive ..they are going for the same money buying wise .. its more to do with weights of each class an gears vs no gears/ chain drive= less hp loss ..diffs / friction = hp loss .. maybe mod sprints should go to tq and minisprints to midgets ..take wings off for good..would that keep you happy woodart??

Mini sprints originated in the South island Modified sprints in the North island now no Mini sprints in the South island they now have Modified sprints and the North island have Mini sprints and no Modified sprints. The demise of Mini sprints in the South came about because because of unequal parody between the two classes when running together.Shame really because some of the last Mini sprints running in the South island were starting to foot it with the Modified sprints. But keeping up with the motorcycle powered cars came at a cost and that's where it ended.A few years ago several Mini sprints came down to Ruapuna speedway and ran with the Modified sprints both classes were't that far apart.A bit of weight ballast and a few small rule changes could have both classes running together Nation wide.
