Great debate on points v first past post. My preference is first past post. It is easy to declare a winner, the team with the fastest machinery not guaranteed to win and more action with teams certainly putting their cars on the line.

Why didn't they just take the top 11 thru to give everyone a real good chance? ๐

Why so many colour clashes ,that Pumas v Maulers race must have been a very hard watch ,as well as Gisborne v Christchurch , and then tonight Auckland v Kihikihi. Only really the pumas & maulers teams that clashed really bad others were fine.

Two qualifying races means you only met two other teams of 10 other teams present. One team can meet two top ranked teams for a win and a loss, another two easy kills. Just because you've won your two races doesn't mean you're deserving of being ranked top 4. There's 8 teams you haven't even faced. Top 8 is an awesome way of doing night 2. You can lose a game in the RWC and still end up champions, so why not in stockcar teams? Barry B

You would need to be pretty lucky to meet 3 bougus teams in qualifying or conversely very unlucky to meet three great teams (are there even 3 great teams? lol j/k) in qualifying. If that was a worry tho it could be solved with seeding all 11 teams anyway. And Barry your comparing apples with oranges again with your rugby world cup analogy. That is round robin groups format. Completely different to this... unfortunately

Also Mr Brown, while I'm at it. Which of the top 4 teams would you say hasn't earned the right to be called top 4 right now?
