Scotty getting ready at the 2009 World 240 Champs at Rotorua. Looks like Stuart Smith Junior had a sore arm. Scotts son Jack in the background, he's a talented driver too. Jumbo's boy offering words of wisdom. A very dedicated crew.

Back to the essence of MIA - tracking down stockcars ;D
The robertson tank is back with its former owner...Where have the 2nd generation of Dave Evans built beasts gone?
Is it tank 3 on Buy or sell?
And is it tank 2 hibernating in Blenheim with John Blokker - anyone got any pictures of this beast, i'm not sure if its raced since it was last at Kaikoura.
And whats happened to tank 4 - last I heard it was in Jerry Linklaters shed in peices.
Tank 5 I did see in the Rees workshop getting a rebuild, but i have heard through the grapevine it was sold to the Mount less running gear, and will be converted to a stockcar - anyone know anything about this?
And what happened to the Shaun SMith 53v tank (tnak 6 I think) that went a long way north, never to be seen of again??
any help tracking down these MIAs appreciated. Those Evans tanks are enigmas all right - they've all disappeared into workshops over time. Must take a real tank driver to keep them on the track one suspects, with all the atten they get.

Tank 7 has just had new steel work done by KP and will hopefully reappear next season. The owner Mike Dodds wanted to rebuild it properly as it had been pretty severely botched in the past. As we know doing things properly can be expensive and time consuming but will no doubt pay off in the near future. Mike is looking forward to getting out there again and will have it humming in no time. Will be a good addition to the Auckland stockcar ranks along with my new purchase aswell WE JUST CANT WAIT, ROLL ON NEXT SEASON.

Has anyone got any pictures of the Gareth Prentice tank when it debuted? It was sold shortly after to Chris Gommans, who only raced it for a season before getting hurt in it I think.
Probably early 2000s for any of those tank lovers with a good photo collection out there.

At the time I thought it was a genuine KP tank - such was the build quality and overall appearance. I had a good look at it last weekend at meeanee, and it's safe to say that Beatle has done an excellent job 'modifying' it....

It was built at Hardacre engineering early 2000's (forget the year) and was copied off the tank KP had at the time. But when I say copied I use that in a lose term, it had build changes made that the builder felt would make it better then the KP tank.

I had my first meeting Dec 26 2004. Not certain but think Gareth did a season and I thought Gommans did'nt have a full season. As for modifications I just do what has to be done to get back on the track every week but been a lot of racing this season so poor old thing is well overdue for a birthday.[that goes for me as well]Car developed a knock at Wgtn a fortnight ago so we pulled the plug for this season.
