interesting, dave obviously passed weight at scruitereneering ? so how far over was he ? may have only gone up by 10 kgs , so they obviously let him wash the car before they weighted it? mud causes weight , i was 1420 before i went to nzl last season at auck in the morning that afternoon i was 1390 on the snz scales , dave is a good entertainer on the track it was him that took to stan at huntly a few weeks ago (would be interesting to know how they pick the groups for last night) , a real stockcar driver

There was a bit of a ruckus last night with one car weighing 40kg underweight after the first race. The driver, quite rightly, disputed the result. As a result the scales were checked and found to be not level, altering the total weight. After recheck the car was OK. The interesting point is that they (snz) wouldn't allow the overweight car to reweigh.

The car was well over weight on first weigh in, then came back just underweight and then was well over when weighed after the race, maybe the adding of fuel, water etc may have pushed him over. Most cars were weighed twice in the night, during Vehicle Checking and after a race, including Stans.
The groups were done by three independant people, including 1 from Palmerston North and 1 from Auckland.

I guess each track has it's own system. Rotorua's is to grade drivers from 1 to 5 or so depending of number of entrants and then equalising out the number of 1's 2's etc into each group then balancing up the number of drivers from each track.
Ministocks in Paradise is very tricky because from there you have to balance up the number of girls and boys in each group the ages of the drivers so you have an equal number of 12 to 16 year olds in each group. Can take a whole day to get that right.
