Roydon did some hot laps at stratford last night after trying to go out and do some laps while the stockcars were intent on destroying each other. 4-5 laps on his own, car looked well hooked up. An extremely good gesture on the part of the stratford club letting a car registered to another club hold up their meeting. Its a pity people have to drive past there own club to chase the money and bigger fields especially as Stratford haven't got enough superstocks (must have 10 to run) to even run on a regular night. With 3 or 4 guys having a year off and 2 guys now residing in the BOP its a case of open the cupboard door and stare at the empty shelf.

couldnt agree more jeff. what did stratford get out of letting 94p have the track to himself? did he pay for the hot laps? if it was good enough to make superstock 34s race with the stockcars all night why not him? nolly 35s did it the week before and johnson 82s a few weeks before that.

Its a question we will have to ask the committee. Send a letter to them expressing your concerns and they have to answer or better still as a member your have the right to attend any committee meeting and ask for speaking rights. Its your club so if you want to change something or question any other club issues you have every right to ask. Gee i sound like an ex committee member aye.

i know what you are saying and i agree. Ive pulled the pin on mine for this season as work and family have to be my main priority. With a half built car, a half built motor and no numbers in Stratford ive made the call to concentrate on getting everything right for next season. Certainly has taken the pressure off knowing that there is always next year. Last year was a financial disaster with 3 motor blow ups with the ford and now changing the car to suit the toyota and the changes to accomidate that. I rely on my crew alot and my main crew member has been sick so everything ground to a halt as he is the brains and a lot of the braun. We will come back brighter and better!!

Hey Rockyford, I know Keith Gill well, he built an owns Roydons new chassis. Roydon owns the hotrod Hartley Nissan motor sister to the new one in the silver bullet. It slipped the timing at Rotorua an bent a heap of valves lucky it was idling in the pits,Roydon pulled motor out at his place in Hawera ,Hartley sorted it, an motor went back in time to test run at stattford an head to Napeir for the next placemakers superstock round on saterday night it was a 25 car field. The car ran hard matching an bettering the pace with most of NZ's currently finest an fastest superstocks . Some awsum driving from near the back in 2 heats an row 3 in the other sore him three 2nd places and take the overall prise money by 1 point from shane penn with Andy Mcnab 3rd. As for test running the at Strattford after 20years in speedway 90% of that for Stratford dont you think he could ask a favour .The last few cars Roydon has raced under 94p have been owned by Palmerston north speedway members so they want there cars running there. There is a plan for Roydon to drive the 44p stockcar as well this year as owner Andrew Weld threw injury is unable, But Keith Gill has been to busy with 4 new turn key cars the last of which is the Collingwood car ,to put the 44car back together from its off season freshen up but he could be at Palmy this weekend with both 94p and 44p

thanks for that information night peddler maybe worth a bet on the tab for nz title i have watched roydon race since the 80,s & is a big fan of mine but my gripe is not at roydon as whole but other clubs who offer top drivers better packages,ie(podjursky,collingwood,durning,joblin,rowlands,l.penn).& any one else i may have missed fom statford in particular, without these drivers & the talent they have brought to the stratford club in the pass, stratford will not be the 2nd most successfull team in superstock history, for much longer.p.s may not have enough cars to make a team this year with this sort of stuff going on superstock teams racing really is a dying breed while this poaching is going on.
