Get better soon Royden, It may be a long time away but we need you better to take that F1 car to a World Final Victory, then race with a Gold top on ya Superstock haha.
Hey Rob on ya saying Superstocks are going too fast, Its when they hit that we all think (including drivers) just how fast they are going so dw about the guy having a go at ya. As Pete Rees said in Chch after the final, (along these words) he had to back off when he hit Kyle as he thort nuts we are going fast someones gona get hurt if I keep at this pace.

Only saw the First impact then got caught up watching Hampo asleep at the wheel, get well soon Steve!!
Have to agree will mentl1 that final impact on the wall at turn 2 was sickerning and would say thats the hit that caused the injury rather than the hit from Hampton. Get well soon Royden and hope to see ya back fit and well real soon!!

Was sitting on Turn 4 and the hit was just in front of us. It was a thunderous blow, with the cars peaking on the limiter!
All attention from us went to Hampton as we could see he was catching zzz's. Was very sad to find both drivers injured.
Get well soon Roydon, you are always a great driver to watch and you always set aside a couple of minutes for a catch up.
Steve, get well also, you were a Demon in that final heat!!!

I have been getting a lot of messages and emails etc over this with calls of slowing Superstocks down this is how i have replied.... you are going to get incidents like that from time to time weather or not they are going slower.Different points of contact have different effects it is all about angles and the point of contact on that angle, meaning if Hampton and hit Collingwood on a slightly different angle and the point of contact was slightly different then both may have been fine.Incidents like this are scary but even Stockcar(Standard) drivers have the same injuries and worse. We dont like to see people injured but it is a contact class and injuries will happen, the drivers know that and the risks as should the spectators.Auckland Superstock teams they have officials scattered around the out side of the fence, when an incident occurs the peer through the fence to see how a driver is and quickly communicate to the infield if something is wrong.maybe that is needed for all the bigger meetings.

couldnt agree more marty.weather the car is going fast or not its all about the impact and angles.it is terrible to see drivers injured to that level but it has to be expected.none the less i hope both drivers recover fast and can get their cars back on the track

I hope Roydon and Steve make great recoveries after that massive incident, we were sitting on turn 3 and just seen Steve fly at Roydon and then a tremendous thud as they both went in2 the fence just about in front of us. Our eyes were stuck on hampton and seen he wasn't goin anywhere and Roydons car was still mobile around the outside and then the next we heard Holy nuts from someone behind us to find Roydon parked front first in the wall. After seeing what happend on the clip i was sent it was really scary 2 watch thats for sure.
I wish both Roydon and Steve speedy recoveries and get well soon!!
