The first one i definitely agree with. As Drivers we have no way of testing the Transponder except for at the track. If it passes scruitneering than i think you should be included in results if it claps out during a race. As Stockcars are/were a budget class, it would be nice to see clubs having spare ones for emergancies, rather than drivers having to have spares. I know Waikaraka do (or did), i borrowed one, when they had their NZ Champs.
The car underweight is a hard one.., for that same NZ champs, my car was going between 1500 and 1501 depending whether the wind was blowing or not..lol. 2 weeks prior (i think) at Palmys NI champs, the car was 1480 and the week prior to that, it was 1450 on Bayparks scales. We had done nothing to the car in that time, and it always had a full tank, so its a hard one to call because the scales werent calibrated perfectly all the time, and quite out too at 2 of those tracks.. dunno which. In saying that, finding 10kg of steel and tacking it on somewhere wouldnt have been too hard to keep everyone happy.
What a rubbish way to decide a tie. Did you guys draw your own grids earlier in the night? Coin toss, as someone said, would be much fairer. As a (ex) driver i would have been a little dissapointed though, i always wanted to do a runoff and never got the opportunity or experience.

Charged yes, working doesnt say. Billys transponder was charged that morning bolted to the car at the track. Went threw scrutineering then over the weigh bridge NO problems. After the first race the transponder was found to be not working. Isnt this why tracks have a wand to check transmitters prior to raceing??? This did not happen as far as I know the wand didnt leave its hideing place SO how was Billy or any other driver to know if his or hers tranmitter was working or not

well done asscc, they reviewed the results & realise not having the run off wasnt right so have now made 64a marty chesnutt, 23a tony baldwin & 95a gary lonergan 3rd equal, all recieving trophys to go with it. congrats to all.
the best part is 3 out of the top 5 are flatties..... yyeeeoowwee!!!

Big thumbs up to 137a Jamie Fergusson for his entertainment on the night. This is why I go to Stockcars as apposed to spending my money at Western Springs. Hope they paid you well, man you earned it.

But I still can't help thinking a 3 way run off for 3rd would have been far better entertainment, for the punters than a jalopy race..............................

just as a matter of interest, what number was that car? 46P Christian Hermansen. No disrespect to Christian, good lines, smooth driver but man that car, left everything in its dust. Nothing came close. Had to change back to OLD SCHOOL MC Dreev's is onto me.. I think i should be flattered. lol myself, 82p, 96b and 28p were all checked after the meeting. track was awesome and really great to drive on. didnt slick off till just before our last race which is pretty good really. we all thought it was really well run. format a lilttle dodgey though?

It was a compliment, Your driving skill was not in question you drove extremely well, almost the whole night. The reason your car was?? per lap faster than every car on the track was the question I wanted answered? When you say your car was checked along with a few others, is that with a Whistler for cubic inches? Or a Cam lift device? Fuel? Suspension components? run over the scales? I'm just asking not accusing. I have no idea what the rules are for these sorts of cars or how stringently they are enforced, but I was under the impression that all the components has to be out of an old Datsun or Nissan.and all you can do is freshen the motor, keeping all the cars reasonably even in pace. When a car shows undeniable speed advantages over all the other cars on the track, including some experienced and educated competitors that also have great driving ability I just wondered how this could happen. Sorry if i came across otherwise. Basically they weighed all the cars before the meeting and afterwards checked if or carburetor was all legit (choke, butterflies etc) and a quick check in the manifold. Nothing to bad. Yes i agree with that, it happens not only in speedway but also in V8 Supercars, Nascar and most forms of competitive motorsport or even sport. Thanks very much.

if i remeber rightly the transmiter discharges first before it charges doesnt it.if im right it may not have had time to recharge.

Hartley motor,and a very well built car and set up,put in a very good driver its got to win,and no to all of the above,sorry they did get to go over the scales,
