Well this is the first report for a while, and there is not to much to report,
On the 27th of December we went back to Baypark for the first time this season, it was good to be back but the good feelings did not last long, off the first start I got half way up the inside of the car in front only for them to come down on me, causing some hard contact, off the restart I started making some places only to come in contact with the car in front again, this time the contact was not hard but the right front wheel folded under the car, with a mounting point for the suspension broken off the frame it was night over, I think the first hit did the damage,
We had a few weeks off and got the car repaired and off to the Waikato Saloon Champs, I drew grid 9 for the first race, the track was still quite wet, I was a bit disappointed that a lot of the saloons did not join a few of us to wheel pack.
the first start I got to see a flying Phil Twogood coming past as he got punted past me, off the full race restart and it was still quite slippery at the pole line, i was trying to go around the 10h Louden car when I got a bit close to the wall, touching the rear which pulled the front around majorly into the wall, again breaking a mounting tab off the chassis, we missed race 2 but with a huge effort from my crew and some help form the Williams crew we managed to get back for race 3, but the car was far from right and I had no turn in, i fumbled around at the back in this one and we put the car on the trailer after this, the feature was awesome to watch Steve and Phil go at it, Congrats to the Steve for the win, Phil for the valiant second and Nigel Ross 3rd,
on Sunday we headed to Kihikihi for the GP, a lot has been said on the main board about the track and I will leave it at that, my day was over near the end of the first heat when my steering rack broke, we were not going forward race but the track was very one lined, I did manage to get Terry Corrin in one corner as he tried to get the outside to work with out much success, we were off on the setup and I was just trying to miss the bumps as much as I could, I think the track will be awesome when they get it packed properly, the final was awesome to watch, congrats go to Roy, Aaron and Steve for the podium places, and to Michelle Wymer for the awesome run from the back,
till next time, thanks for reading
