Along with super saloons, stockcars, Superstocks, streetstocks are a class I like to watch and follow. I am surprised that with todays economic climate we dont have more of them as surely they would be one of the cheaper classes to run or am I wrong 13w haha maybe I should ask your partner and not you ;D

I think yes because Wellington has a proud history in the class, we are quick to forget... 1nz Richard Gaskin, 1nz Gary Marshall, 1nz Graeme Wood to name a few!

i think the big thing is car numbers and yes at times there are good numbers but more low numbers it will be sad to see them go but i think it will start to happen at all tracks that run them soon. for the same price as some are spending on there streetstocks you can get a fast saloon or stockcar that you can race all over nz i think the only places run streetstocks now are auckland / kihikihi / rotorua? / stratford / napier / gissy / the big v / parmy? / welly? but some clubs are only running them some times you need to do a lot of traveling to race every weekend stockcars and saloons run just about every meeting at there home tracks i hope to see them stay at most tracks but the tracks and there reps will have to work alot harder to keep them going

Maybe setting a minimum number for them to be included on the program could be a compromise between the two parties.
One thing I would not like to see is some of the great entertainers we have in the Wellington Street stock ranks lost to speedway. Could a better solution be for us all to work at helping this bunch of stirrers find sponsors, so we could find out how good they would be in stockcars.

im sure they already have a "minimum number of cars required to race" in place. agreed they are some good entertaining drivers in the class, but it its not fun to watch 6 cars spread around the track doin laps im undecided,a couple of points of note, A , the cars arnt the prettiest class in speedway. B ,the few drivers we have support the club and are always at the workin bees. C ,each race of the night usually sees 1 or 2 cars not return for next race. D ,move to non contact class(prodys or saloons) E ,move to to full contact class(stockcars) while we might have had some drivers come thru this grade you cant hold onto everything for ever,ie solos/sidecars/superstocks GONE.due to lack of numbers. mabey f2s arent such a bad idea, get rid of prodys and streetstocks.with the amount of steel in streetstock you could just about build a f2,and alot of prody drivers arent clean enough to call them selves non contact. i wont vote as im undecied, all i can say is NUMBERS people!get numbers(and keep them) and youll be sweet. peace all

the problem we are finding is the cub have said min 5 to race which is fine we always have that, i can name other classes in wgtn that run with less, modifieds, super saloons, sprint cars. so i think the club is picking on streetstocks a little, the letter states we need 8 to race next season, i wonder how many super saloons and modifieds are going to front up to get a smililar number and sprint cars, seeing one playing tail end charlie to modifieds is getting old real fast as well as 1 super saloon running behind saloon cars

Well I must say that this is disappointing if that is the case. With some very average stock car racing during the season, the streets have somewhat made up for that and I thought they have been one of the more exciting classes this season!
I also am looking at getting into driving next season and have been looking seriously at a street stock as it is slightly cheaper and it still has all the excitment that stock car racing can bring!!
Please keep this class!!!!
But now I want to know before I buy if I am going to be able to race at my home track???

I recall begining of the season the guys was rallying around getting numbers ect and people from other tracks was saying we will come down and race ect... ummm still waiting for them except 22p ..
Didnt our cars travel a bit this year and none really come here... as field of 6 cars or less really isnt great for the crowd yes you guys do try and spin and turn it on and have done well at times
years ago we had big fields when woody and tye was racing but most went thought 2 cars a season and hit and it was great , but rules have killed it by reducing the hits ect.. also in the old days we had streetstocks roll over umm cant remember last time one did besides nz champs...

i think streetstocks are a great class to watch when there is atleast 8 or more cars some nights 8 streetstocks can be better than 20 stockcars but these boys need to work together before racing and rather than flag race, tap and spin allnight long, not to the extent that they right each other off, flag racing is all good when there 15 plus cars but not 6 or 8, so i think with 8 plus cars this track needs them maybe more than they realise due to the fact people go to speedway to see cars crashing and bashing and with only stockcars as the contact class it could be a big downfall for temarua, my thoughs only of coasre

if wellington had a good feild of them this season then i think they should keep them other wise no one is interested in watching 2 or 3 go round and round but on the other side when you have a few cars they a great to watch

the class as a whole has well and trully passed its used buy date and should be phased out. A good step ahead for them is to move to F2s.
Street stocks are keeping the bogan element in the public eye and we need to move forward and improve our image as a whole.
Time to let them die along with mini stocks

you cant phase these out for f2s,thats a rediculous comment.
how can you compare dollar for dollar between the 2??
a streety you can pick up for under $3k...
smash it and bash it then dump it,or put the cage in something else....thats the fun of them and parts are cheap..
greymouth has now got a fwd streety, horrid i know but it gets the numbers up,im all for more streetys even if they are fwd....
