yeah Im sure it is Paul Hewson.. not sure if this was a sprintcar or not , all I know is that it has a 241.6 flat head v8 and pic was taken 1989

This is the The John Jacobsen flathead, owned by Peter Leversedge. Still around, and looking as beautiful as ever (apart from the cage). This car has a heritage that dates before Sprint car racing in NZ. Often seen at CVSC events all over Canterbury. Am I right that this was taken at Ferrymead?

? Warren Anderson, Grant King chassis, car eventually ended up in Tony Mac's hands I believe it was made into a Modified , nothing exists apparently

any thing more going on with old sprintcars around ?? i am getting on with mine have most stuff now engine is looking all good just sorting all the driveline and mounting steering box and that. like to hear of any more being done.

hi sesco, still working on mine,its a bit of a battle finding parts from that era, anybody know what happened to the #12 car a couple of posts up,from memory it was driven by gavin pierce?. i remember it running on the outlaw tracks. jed

the 12 car is barry butterworth at sydney its the ray alach car that he ran here the last sprintcar that he did run.he was running another car over there and it turned out no good so they sent that over and he ran it john stanley was there with him he did pretty good once they got it going. so what is the car you have jeds?? any pics?what parts are you looking for i have alot of stuff from time just let me know. be good to see some more pop up some time there is another guy down here that has restored an 85 gambler just wanting to do an engine i also hear phil game is going to restore the ex wakeling gambler to. we need to have some sprintcars to show up and maybe can get going like the other vintage side of thins but for some reason its very hard to get that side of things going what people dont think about is a sprintcar is alot easer to do than a midget or something you can get bits still and the engine is so easy i think if some more show up it may show people that it can be done and every one loves a v8.

sesco,my car is a 85 osbourne,ian easton bought it in and raced for a couple of seasons,86-87 i believe,then pretty sure owen shaw ran it for a season,then pat wilson bought it,i crewed for pat for a few years and had a few drives,i sort of got pissed with the whole speedway thing around 1990 and never went near a track for years,i am not sure how long pat continued with the car,i spoke to him a few years later and he wasn't sure what happened to it,i saw the bare chassis for sale about 5 years ago but it had sold when i enquired about it,last year i got asked to help a couple of young guys out who were building a modified,so went and had a look at what they had and there it was,about to be cut up and turned into a mod,so a deal was done where they got another chassis already altered and i got the osbourne,only downside was the replacement chassis turned out to be the ex tony allen forge niteclub gambler.so over the last year i've been buying bits i can find from that era,its basicly a roller now,just making sure it all fits then i will strip it,get the chassis blasted and coated and start the final build,im in no hurry,it ain't going anywhere, jed

hi jeds well thats all good be good to see it all done one day.there is a few others out there that have been said are getting done but nothing seems to come of it i am trying to get most of mine done before i move to aussie.
