1NZ... Todd Moffat (Has local knowledge and experience and knows the pressure of being in the top three at a NZ meet) 2NZ... Phil Toogood (Has the experience and has a kool head when it comes to pressure, and hes a gentleman as well and has been so close and deserves a place in the top 2) 3NZ... Brett McClymont (Has the experience as well and a smooth driver but will find being in the top 2 for the last couple of years will take its toll this year) And closely followed by.. 1NZ Steve Williams 42W Allan Jacob 97A Robin Thomas

...(Think I would have 5T in at least Green though)?! No question, 5T ... Darryl Ainsley is a very tidy and talented driver with an awesome car! A championship meeting calls on a different set of skill sets, in addition to those at regular meetings, including experience. there are many alternative worthy racers who may well end up on the podium, and many ending up behind the tow truck. One of the skill sets will be avoiding the missiles and not being intimidated by those doing the firing! Hey, won't be the first or last time I've made the wrong call! As with the super saloons, increasingly, it is not enough to have the 'race skills', these must be matched with dollars invested. The saloon class is destined on it it's present course to become the premier 'saloon class' for the rich, with the Supers being stolen by stealth and transformed in to a 'late model' variation. The weather forecast doesn't inspire confidence with a 20% chance of showers predicted for Friday and Saturday, worsening for Sunday!

agree with Lunch Box, 2nz would have to be the favourite, you do not go 2NZ, 1 NZ and 2 NZ in the last 3 years and not go into the race the favourite,
46M Terry Corrin would also be a top pick, very good driver and gives Stick a heap of trouble at Baypark, 3nz the last 2 years and will be up the pointy end for sure,
i think a outside chance could be 78S Chris Betts, won races at Huntly and Baypark this year, car goes very well, and has raced at Wellington with some success,
others to watch are 1nz, 48a, and 59A imo,
good luck to all involved, wish i could be there with you

Havnt seen any Wellington cars run but didnt they get shown a driving lesson last time the CREAM of saloon where down there? Lunchbox Actually, I think 10W, 42W and HRC driving 98W came in 4th, 5th and 6th (or something like that) last season when we had the North Islands - which wasn't a bad showing taking into account the quality of the field! There will be a couple of Wellington cars up near the front guaranteed - and out of 40 odd cars that's not a bad prospect. I agree about the quality of 1NZ, 2NZ, 3NZ, 48A and 5T though - how good is it that we have such a quality field to look forward to watching! Can't wait! ;D
