Had speedbox for the first time last Night and was impressed.. Had the High Bit rate running on a projector and everything was mint.. A little spoilt though as we have a 10M link to the internet...
One small thing... I think if the "HITS" where audioable the "Show" would be better.. yes you can here the motors BUT the hits are just as cool to hear...
Cheers and see you on the www tonight...

Had to laugh at the Poms vs Scrappers race, The two Scrappers cars out front for most of the race and then were told the Poms lost the race and were not beaten, Sorry they were beaten fair and square, Pom supporter much Mr Hickey? it was a bit of both really, the scrappers def earnt the win, but the poms didnt really put up a fight

i had it set on medium quality through our 47 inch and was acceptable. Probably would be better if set on high quality, but i was worried about running out of band width - can anyone tell me thier usage when set on high? cheers. I had mine set to high quality for the 4 hours or so that it was running I used about 1500mb

Upto 2gb? accordig my traffic meter that I have been using I only used 246mb of national data and 630mb of international so cant of been that bad. From the speedbox site. We have been asked to increase the high quality bitrate, so for this meeting the high is running at 750kbps, this means that is may use up to 2GB of your data allowance (if you have one). All previous high quality live streams this season have been running at 550kbpsjust checked mine and yep 1889mb or there abouts, and that was using the high quality high bitrate. if you are reading this speedbox team, found the new bitrate much improved from the last, although i do wonder if filming only 8 cars as opposed to 26 may have had to do with an improved quality also. last night was able to use the full monitor for viewing and found that to be much better than last time ( where i reverted back to the small screen) all booked for tonight and go the tigers!!!!

absolutely enjoyed the coverage had the lap top hooked up via HDMI to the home theartre system running to the 50inch screen turned it up load, just like being there - until the neighbour "suggested" it might be a bit load ;D
the improved instant replay is a big improvement, that made a huge difference over previous years
now it would seem all Speedbox need to do is get Paul Hickey hooked up to a lap scoring screen. I gather he did not have access to this which made his commentary a little unsure at times.

No, not this time. Paul and I had talked about it ages ago, and somewhere along the line we never got the message through to those that needed to know during the hectic late December/January racing period. Easily fixed for next time though.

I would like to thank the Speedbox guys while I was at the track I spoke to one of the people involved. My son A.J. Gullery was snow bound in the states and unable to attend as planed was watching Speedbox, I asked if they could say hi to him from us. It made his day when they put that over. Also with txt messaging we were getting some reports from him before they were put over the P.A. system at the track. The world is so small when these sort of things happen.
