Why do people need to drink at the speedway they just get off there face and abuse people, sure you expect a little banter between different team supporters but NOT ABUSE. My 9year old son went to the toilet and on his way back a guy went right up in his face and called him "a f@$kin little c*&t"! Not only did he do this to my son but others walking past. We dint need that sh*t at the track. I was very disappointed in the security this year, during the racing all i saw was 1 BOY who must of been about 12yrs old trying to stop 2 people from play fighting i mean whats up with that?!! How was he gonna stop 2 growen men from fighting???

Well yes I thought most of the drunk people around the event were not the younger people. Yet most people complain about them.

How often does this come up? Wouldn't you have thought by now that a promoter would (if alcohol was to be made available) that it would only be available in a separate area. Time for this sport to wake up and join other sports in the 21st century!

You would think at $7.50 for a 330ml can it would hinder people but they just kept on walking with them, it was unbeleivable.

Yea i agree with both!! People were also able to bring it in thru the gates. I no when my bags were being checked they asked if any of the powerade bottles had been opened then they wanted to check them on second night.

Time for this sport to wake up and join other sports in the 21st century! At NZ Stockcar at Wanganui they had a fenced off area to drink in. Good idea.

On night one they checked our non clear water bottles to make sure they were water. we had no problem with this.
Night two we get to the gate and no water allowed. Poor it out. Broken seal so not allowed in. then person behind us is allowed his open bottle of coke. No water. Palmy promotion dropped the ball there. why different rules for different nights.

All you straight edge fullas are simply fighting a losing battle, people drink alcohol so you just have to deal with it, if they are going to abuse you then they would abuse you sober anyway. If you get offended then you are just fueling the fire for further abuse, the best thing to do is laugh it off and carry on watching the racing. If you get all hot under the collar whenever you see some one who is drunk then you are worse than the people who are getting drunk. A drunk person follows a couple of simple rules, 1. Everything is funny until there is a punch thrown - so in that case just smile and laugh, if you start to look uptight and offended then they will keep going until you burst. 2. Sobering up sucks - you will notice when they run out of money they will get quieter and quieter and then they will be the uptight ones. 3. Loud is proud - You are at the speedway , speedway is loud , what do you think the rest of the crowd thinks about you if you try and tell someone off for being noisey at the speedway? If that is you then you should stay at home son because you just do not have what it takes to be a speedway supporter.
At the end of the day if you bring your children to the speedway then it is your problem , you are their parents , so look after your children , no one else should have to suffer and have less of a good time because you dont want little johnny to be scarred for life by seeing or hearing something, you should harden your kids up young anyway then maybe the younger generations to come wont be so god darn soft.

I agree, was very different rules first night to the second - found the same, first night, bottle of coke plus two pump bottles of water were fine, checked and all ok - second night, nope, need to tip them out or surrender them - but ok if they were new with seals intact and that we should have read the website to see what the rules were. Assumed it was to do with protecting the sale of piss inside for the night, but anyone wanting to get it in, would have, and did have their 300-400mil bottle of top shelf in their pocket and brand new bottle of mix in their bag.

The majority of drunk people that abuse people will not do it when they are sober because they don't have the balls to do it sober, they think they are 7 ft tall and bullet proof when they are drunk. saying not to bring your children to speedway because the drunks have to suffer what planet are you on?

People pay money to travel for food for accommodation and to watch speedway NOT to get abused by drunks, many people and families have their weekend ruined every year because of abusive drunks

Where did I say that? maybe you need to read it again. I am on planet earth mate its a good place if you want to join the rest of the world. I said look after your children, go with them to the toilet and make sure they are not running around by drunk people. But DO NOT cause a whole bunch of bs that does not need to exist just because you got your panties in a twist over a couple of words that were said. Save that for the politicians , this is speedway.

I agree with Marty, what a load of bull.
You have some issues if you need alcohol to enjoy speedway, and no I'm not straight-edge either, I enjoy a drink in the right place at the right time. The way I see it, it's the people who fight so hard to have it available that create the problems. The people with a bit of maturity who can actually have a beer and remain in control, without abusing everybody around them, are the people that dont care either way, and enjoy speedway for speedway.

I agree with Marty, what a load of bull. I'm not straight-edge either, I enjoy a drink in the right place at the right time. Same here, I didn't abuse anyone or do anything out of the ordinary but drinking is and will always be part of the teams champs. You guys are acting like every single person who has even one sip of a beer is a criminal , come on guys. We all know there are people who can't handle the jandle when it comes to drinking, security just needs to adapt a tough stance on evicting un-ruely drunken crowd members.
