Yes but whats more annoying, a sober person sitting there watching speedway or a drunken lout bouncing about spilling drink and abusing people, and im not saying that is the kind of person you are but it is the kind of people that shouldnt be at speedway and unless something is done about it then the next best thing is a blanket ban.

Drunk people can be quite funny... Did anyone see the drunk fella on turn one? was cheering on everything. havn mud fights was on speedbox doing so musta been a good drunk person.. i also recall him taking mr metal mans hat haha but gave it back coz he was a good drunk person. when i was in the pits i saw him agian seemed he hada race of his own with the rentacops and won.. the 1st 2 times anyway.. the 3rd didnt look to good hahahaha. bye bye drunk person. got kicked out but then saw him later on? musta came in a different gate. came back to turn one sat down the front agian and i still saw him all over the show buying more drinks. at times he was more intertaining then a few races he was well cooked.

here we go all again!!. alcohol.. same sh*t different day. you wont ever get rid of annoying people its that simple, sober or not. some people are just idiots but in saying that having a few beers well wheres the harm in that. its the same with telephones and driving.. you may put a complete ban on it but that doesnt mean everyone is going to obey it does it. i sure as heck dont pull over for every phone call. i do enjoy going to the track and having a few brews with friends i only see once a year at teams in palmy. and lets all face it why would the arena ban alcohol? the sell it and make profit.. they wouldnt be too worried if a couple of families had a bad time and not came back because there would be 2 more families would just fill there place. you can complain all your like but in the end and real life nothing will be done so you may as well go talk to your sober rock

Like it has been said before...wait until you have your own kids.
Most of the negative comments made are by the immature muppets of this world. Lets see what your opinion is like in years to come when some drunken idiots spill alcohol over you & your kids & partner...then you also get abused into the bargain. I bet you want be so full of BS, like you are now.

The Promoter allows the sale of alcohol because it makes them A LOT of $$$$ this enables them to pay the competitors better $$$$ for competing. Without this revenue the promoter couldn't pay the competitors the big $$$ so they might not be as keen to turn up to this meeting and put there cars on the line to be recked. So if you had no Revenue from alcohol sales it would need to come from somewhere else. i.e increase on the gate fee. So would you be prepared to pay a higher ticket price and have the meeting alcohol free, keeping in mined that the ones that get drunk and cause trouble will sneak it in any way.

Tui. If you are right Stockmad and the promoter didn't make anything of the alcohol sales at this event then surely they have the right to not allow it as they know they will get a full crowd anyway, so why have the hassle of paying for extra security and having drunks spoil the event for others when your getting no revenue from the sales.

i must have been in the wrong or the right place I have to say I didnt see any drunks or bad behaviour the entire weekend. I have taken at some stage over the last 22 years some if not all of our kids to this event. Several of them that now go are adults themselves. Yes there was alcohol and yes us girls did buy a wine each the first night but that was it. I actually think compared to years ago the drinking side of things is alot tamer than it ever used to be. Any sporting event these days sells alcohol we have seats at the cake tin and reg take our boys there for rugby games and we hav'nt encountered any problems there either. All I can say is get them removed by security if they are abusive, rude or out of control as that I presume is what the security people are there for. I would think alot of the alcohol consumption is done before they arrive at the arena.

I would of got security to talk to them at least if i could find any bloody security all i could find was a little 12year old boy! When i looked around the arena i saw alot of security in grand stand and along the start/finish straight but none in turns 3&4. I wouldnt want anyone to miss out on the racing but just to tone it down and not abuse people! Someone early said something about the Noise, nothing wrong with that in fact my kids were pretty noisey all weekend ;D

Either ban it or confine it. I should be able to take my family without having to worry about their safety when it comes to drunken louts. The security were out of their league, most of the ones I saw looked like they were there to watch the races. Not one that passed by evicted the drunken louts that couldn't stand on their own or the young girls that were drinking out of their glasses they had brought from home. Had they scanned the crowd they would have seen the ones that were too drunk to even care that they were breaking the rules. It is sad the a few idiots ruin it for so many, maybe if it was confined it would be easier to control the louts that are too drunk? I would rather stay sober so I can remember the races. As for it being loud, the kids we had around us were louder then any of the adults, they seem to have the right idea. No child or adult should have to put up with that sort of abuse,I will not talk to my kids like that and I will not allow anyone else to either,in fact I'm sure if I did I would be had for verbal abuse on a minor! Drunk or not it's disgusting behavior.

I will say this again. Sure have alcohol but either have one area where the drinkers can sit OR have a family friendly are where it is SAFE to take kids and not have them exposed to it. Quite simple really!
