Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere... but what was the story behind the Commodore "Car of the Week" that entertained the crowd so well?.

The doughnuts and 360's were highly amusing however It really got the crowd interested when it started riding up the walls.... I guess someone will be doing a little panelbeating

I was sitting not too far from one of the greats, and had to remind him of the days when Palmy had an all-weather track, and he decided that the fastest way to get his tank around it was to ride half-way up the wall ...

um that was probably the best bit of advertising I saw at the entire event. no one takes any notice of the car of the week normally this time everyone was watching it. the croud reaction when it got close to the walls was great.
the fact that it looked like it was an actual car for sale made it great fun to see it up on the wall. was a great laugh!
very good publicity

I thought it was Penman or another Tigers supporter.... Heh heh.....my lips are sealed. I may have - or may not have - disappeared from my seat for a short period of time at some point during the second night's racing. I may have - or may not have - been seen returning to my seat sometime after said event with a smile on my face and some mud on my boots. Maybe.
