i was actually talking to my mate about the security it sucks, they just stand around talking ,smoking watching races ect where do i put my hand up to get payed to go and watch, theifts are becoming way to common, why dont they have a patrol in the car park??? seen 1 gaurd in the pits, but yeah the standing around like a social meeting getting paid for it ,rather than stopping these break ins sucks it needs to be addressed.

Up in jaffa land best thing to do is make sure you have nothin at all in the car or in the boot
leave the glove box etc open so they can see nothin to take
leave door unlocked so they do not break the lock
then get someone to sit and wait
then bash the bastards good and propper

Never much fun when this sorta thing happens, I've been in the pits at Te Marua Lately & was aksed by one of the surcurity guards to lock the tow car as they had seen someone who they thought may have been casing out a few vehicles but had no proof to throw then out. As for $2000 of gear being nicked, maybe you be leaving that sort of gear in your car, r is that what your telling the insurance company

If it is a track where breakins are a prob, and it seems it is, then the club has to take some responsibility.
If security aint doing enuff then sort it.
Palmy teams is the same from cars that park outside the carparks. Several blocks of cars are at risk, especiaaly the darker side streets. Got done once, now would rather taxi.

Ive notice the Welly Club's Vice President always has plenty to say on this Board
He does however seem very inactive on this part of the Board..
It would be interesting to hear his views on the subject

Ok my view on this is if you leave $2000 worth of gear in an unalarmed vehicle(? Insurance) it is not the clubs fault that some dirt bag decides to rip it off not pointing fingers at any one person but in general.common sense will always prevail. But in turn I also have an issue with the security my thoughts are this I don't know who or how much these guys are being paid but I don't believe they are being paid to sit and watch racing i saw 4 security guards onsite which only one of them was actually walking around and really paying attention one of them would walk around stop and watch the racing the third had a young boy and another fellow in tow which says to me that there concentration will not be focused on the job at hand then said fellow in tow who was not wearing anything to say he was security was very rude to a punter just having a look at and incident and numerous times I saw these 3 sitting down just watching racing not even paying attention to anything going on around them I will be bringing this up at the next club meeting cause if these guys re intact being paid they need to pull there heads in and do what they are paid to do is was brought up to me that the palmy security faces the crowd while racing is on I haven't taken notice myself. Then again it might be written into the contract that they can watch racing who knows. But an awesome weekend of racing watch by myself.

Security is employed by the Promotion team SPW try phoning or emailing them if you have anything constructive to say! moaning on here wont do anything. Didn't see you at the last 2 club meetings urmama!
I have had my ute done over 3 times at Palmy, it happens everywhere.

Wasn't complaining about the club in any way muff just bringing issues with the security to light as for the meetings I couldn't make the first one it clashed with an event of my wifes and the second was 2 days before my daughter was born so had a little on my plate if you had read my post thru you would have seen I was trying to defend the club, Just noting my spottings from the weekend so hopefully the people who were actually paying these security could address the issue and this was going to be brought up at the next meeting so long as i can make it this time.

Id say bring k9 securityback they were much better. I have only had my car broken into once there about 10 years ago and i parked up by the bottom of the hill and would never park there again the broke my lock stole my 20 dollar neon lights inside cost more to fix lock. But Mike this stuf happens everywhere not just te marua speedway but im sure other tracks have had it too.
