Am I the only one who feels the Rororua team has overstepped the line in replicating the Allstars colour scheme?

If that's the case, considering 3 of the other 6 teams were in black - and the other was black and white - there was a fair bit of mark over-stepping going on. Nothing new, definitely avoidable, but also deemed acceptable. Don't blame the teams, blame the system that allows such things.

I Don't get the argument that there are a lot of black teams cars.
The ( Identical?) blues the reds & whites positioning etc.. of the rebels cars sat next the allstars in the pit was just too much. Don't get me wrong they look awesome.. but why not red cars with blue & white numbers etc. Like the flag.. If it was sponsors blue I could understand the change. but there were any number of combination's available..
the Allstars have been that color for as long as i can remember. to have a team come out in the exact same colours is IMHO over the line. Indecently Aucklands colour is blue.

Gotta agree , the Rebels would look good in the old Rookie Rebels colours . The colour clash didnt matter alot in Palmy , cos Aucks never fronted with a team. Guess if the Allstars did make a showing , they may have something to complain about .. Toss a coin i rekon, Loser takes PINK . ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Same could be said for the numbers. 2 sets of teams with the same numbers? People moan about other meetings with cars running the same numbers yet the teams are allowed to do it. Double stds i think. As a Rebels supporter, i would have prefered the team in the red but did look good in the blue.

Is it the sponsors of the teams say what colours they race in or who chooses Good Question.. ? Who knows who is behind the team colour changes. With all the talk on this board of Professionalism, Public Recognition & probably most of all TV Coverage etc what do you think Jo Public at home thinks when he cant tell one team from the other. The Allstars decide next year Orange and Black tiger striped are the new look they want. turn up at the Palmy teams in the new colours & no one on here would say anything? perfectly acceptable?? The Tigers didn't show in Auckland so it must be okay.. Or it's okay because other teams are running black? I have to agree with the Provincial colours idea being the go. at least the TV folk would have something marketable to play with.. Piggy Back a Shield challenge maybe? Who knows but it sure won't be seen as marketable while teams mirror an oppositions colours and it's deemed as acceptable. It also wont gain the enthusiasm of the non speedway fans on TV as it remains the same. The Super Super 12? You have to apply for dispensation to run some Team numbers from SNZ. Why not colours?

Once again, a remit has been put forward on this issue in the past, and like with the numbers thing etc, it failed to gain any favour with voters.

Who votes on these sorts of remits Barry? is it the clubs and Promotors or SNZ and SPANZ? one would think the collective minds of SPANZ would make it happen and can see the disadvantage of colour clashes on a national stage. Are we doomed? Lynda Kuriger said a while back in her editorial that we survive in spite of our selves.. how right she was.

As recently as the last remit conference in 2009 in fact......the promoter and competitor reps from each of the 24 tracks at the 2-day SNZ segment of the weekend vote.

May as well go back to no team bodys if this sort of thing is going to happen!! As for the Black Panthers, when the Scrappers and Gladiators were around, the Panthers didnt have team bodies, so i guess there is big debate over who gets black.. Also didnt the Rebels always used to use a nice dark Royal Blue very different from the Allstars. Seems silly to imitate a team like that, when your colour was already very presentable.

As the only two Teams Meetings are both promotion run events and not SNZ maybe some persuassion to have different colours can be made by the two promotion teams. Certainly I would have thought that Palmerston North would have enough clout to make something happen as a condition of entry. For team colours and numbers.
