Doug is really looking forward to having a skid in his new hot rod, and hopes to have it out there for a couple of shake down runs this season.

Doug believe's a car of this quality is within the realms of everyone, he hasn't got any major sponsorship deal or corporate backers - he just saved his money for "years and years and years."
....and he is very happy to have bought it - he alway's wanted to run the very best car he could afford, and has absolutely no regrets - he didn't want to grow old and sit on the couch wondering what if?

Doug has been part of the speedway family for a number of years... his family and his late uncle Gordon Leonard RIP got him into it when he was a "wee tacker" back in his Meeanee day's.
He first started racing Superstocks down south, and has had quite a few cars over the years.
After breaking his back in the Manawatu Champs in 2005, he came back and raced the ex-Cullum McCloud 25P Superstock last year.

Doug truely believe's that anyone can get out there, even if you can't race in the top level, there's a class for everyone in speedway.

DEMON RACE CARS
I had a talk with Brad about the car...

The #001 chassis is made from high tensile steel plate and every piece has been created using a 3 dimensional CNC laser cutter. Their are only 4 of these machines in New Zealand, and by using this method it means that exact parts can be produced efficiently.

Brad has multiple components in stock, and can provide customers with a bare chassis, right up to a full roller.
If a customer required any replacement part it would be couriered that day.

Doug's car has a number of feature's including;

Winters quick change diff
4 link suspension
full floating rear brake
4 pot brakes all round
6 coil suspension units
5th & 6th coil on the 5th arm

DEMON RACE CARS pride themselves in producing a top quality product, and delivering it in full, on time, to the customers specifications.
So get hold of Brad if you want a top quality standard stock or superstock built.

Very nice looking car. Interesting that there does not appear to be any protection in front of the radiator. Could be just my poor eye sight though...

One more thing,
I asked Doug why he choose to run as number 25P, he told me that down south he was alway's number 52E but when he came to Palmy 52 was already taken, so he just swapped the numbers round.

The car looks a million bucks, and he's worked his ass off to finally get what he wanted.
Saw him last night and was surprised it wasnt torn down for plumbing, his reason was he wanted the crew to see it first and I don't blame him.

Once we get all the lines in, electrical done she'll be ready to see some track time.

As far as looks go, it all started from a couple of ideas, and some paintshop fiddling in spare time as you can see...

Now we have what you see above.

superstock bearly use them so no need to worry about there strength!!

pretty sure this car was copied off Kerry Humphreys 79p Keith Gill car. They have done a very good job of it. Those big Keith Gill styled wings look awesome, BWC race wings have done a good job. Looking forward to seeing it on the track, hopefully this weekend?

I think Barry was more pointing to the fact the first spaceframe made was a Kuriger chassis - so in effect every spaceframe in existance is a Kuriger copy ;D

Dougs state-of-the-art CSL Toyota, it's got plenty of torque and horsepower.

I'm following Doug and his car all the way to the track, so the next shots you see will probably be from a Harrisville set up day.
