. Wonder how many drivers have entered a championship in the past and never actually raced prior .. Should be zero in last few years cause you need to have completed mentor program, which is why i have suggested what i did in the entry criteria thread. BTW the mentor prog seems to have become a bit of a joke as well

To be honest , I do know of quite a few . But i will not name anyone . Its the clubs that should be shot for allowing it to happen.
When i say hadnt raced prior , I meant drivers who hadnt raced for a year or two ..

Now that all the nonsense has passed, are there any results from this meeting?

Congratulations to the top three and to all the drivers for putting on a good show. It was a big ask with five races and a tight schedule for the Stockcars but it was worth it to have the finals run over three heats so well done to all involved. Looking forward to next year with an even bigger entry list and hopefully held over two nights.

Well I thought the U23's was great night at the speedway.
There were 56 cars in two heats and the action was fast and furious, especially towards the end of the night in the consolation races etc - some mean hits!
Sadly things got slower and slower and we stood around for what felt like an enternity waiting for the cars to come out. As I had to be at work in the early hours of the morning this morning I had to leave just after 11pm and as such I missed the final race / presentations etc.
Some fine racing from the support classes, including a wild wall ride for 16s saloon (which I missed photoing). Heaps of ministocks with a few bumps and scrapes during some intense racing there too.
Also great to see the Superstocks mixing it up and dishing out some big hits...
Will get some photos online later on today.
Well done Stratford and the U23's
Drew

I believe the superstocks did not run the Taranaki Champs in the end as there werent enough car. instead they raced the John & Gary Adamson Memorials. I believe The John Adamson was won by Nev Nolly and the Gary Adamson (Stirrers Trophy) was well and truelly won by Pacman Pete Moseley

Was a good social BBQ in the pits too, this nice lady Nikki bought her stunt horse over and joined in. She had a ball. The horse is honey image hostA few stockie people have some hidden talents, on 1 horsepower. upload imageThe wheel barrow races were a bit of fun, if you didn't get hurt it was funny, if you did it was hilarious.
