If we can get the sponsors sorted, and happy we will get the decent signwriting done. If that gets done there will definitly be an unvailing, and team launch event to support the sponsors. - Team Sponsors
- Team Logo and vote
- Team Car design and vote
- Discuss first teams race and other teams race offers
- rebuild update and safety in car catchup
There might be a beer in there somewhere as well 4.00pm depart Punakaiki 4.25 Arrive Rapahoe 4.26 Have beer 4.35 depart rapahoe there are probably two car loads, and we have a couple of volunteer drivers, so anyone else who wants to come should PM me to make sure we have enough room. Hi olderdabetta, depends if you want to do da driving, or do da coruba haha. Seriously, if we all meet up at the Rec we should be able to balance out cars and drivers. Think we have a couple of car fulls at the moment, so another vehicle will always help the comfort levels I think Some times for this weekend - (repeated as new page) [glow=red,2,300] 2pm Meet at the Rec - Recreation hotel[/glow] 2.01pm Have beer 2.10pm Depart the Rec 2. 25 Arrive Rapahoe Hotel 2.26pm Have beer 2.35 Depart Rapahoe 3.00pm Arrive Punakaiki 3.01 get beer, set up computer etc [glow=red,2,300] 3.05 Start teams meeting[/glow] Discuss - Team managers/selectors

change of plan team.
The westport alumni have made a couple of calls this morning. Those keen have now unfortunatly had other issues arise.
Little point heading to Punikaiki to meet no one ;D
Will still meet at the Rec and follow through on the meeting here.
Good luck to those competing at Ashburton, and see the rest at the Rec at 2pm

We had a shorter afternoon that planned after our westport crew had some work and racing commitments take precedence over the meeting. The meeting was then held at the Recreation Hotel. Some awesome logos were prepared by Jacob Gates of JG Design, and the boys really struggled to come up with a logo and scheme from the cool options he provided. Awesome job Jacob! Decide we did though, and we came up with the following choice which we hope is a wee bit unique to the coast and to the grizzlies. I think there is one other white and black team out there (go the bayyyy) and I swear that had no impact on my decision, honest. The red brings in the traditional West Coast colors, and we think our two logos are pretty cool, that being the bear and the paw print on the cars. and the cool logo we hope to incorporate into a couple of t shirts and posters if we make it that far. we have also picked up a couple of managers/selectors which is awesome to see. Thanks to Cocky Walton (Fat Maxs Gym - Fat Maxs is Motorsport) Lee Swinburn (Equip Engineering) Craig Swinburn (Equip Engineering) John Oliver (OAS Racing) for stepping up and being a key part of our team. With 4 pairs of eyes out there we hope the selectors can select a fair team, and install the team ethic that is key to stockcar teams racing. We also have a new website at www.greenstonepark.co.nz that we hope to keep updated through the year, and for you facebookers out there keep an eye out on the Greenstone Park Speedway facebook page, where we hope to update that latest happenings from our cool little club on the west coast, and the happenings over our side of the hill. click on the facebook link to see what's happening. www.facebook.com/pages/Greenstone-Park-Speedway/158229297596121?sk=wall&filter=1The calender for the season is already up their, so check out what meetings are on, and when your favorite classes might be racing. Hopefully in the next few weeks the cars will be starting to get green sheeted for the new season, and we will also able to announce a couple of team sponsors for the Grizzlies. Let us know what you think of the grizzlies new look!

is there a list of who has put there hand up for the team??? Hi Dirty, We have a list of people who have said they are interested in trying to gain selection for the team from both the meetings we have had. As this thread has gone on the list has both grown and shruken with people getting keen, and others looking to have another years racing under the belts. Either way the door is not shut at all - we will have a meeting after the first drivers meeting of the year at Opening weekend, were the selectors and managers will be introduced to any stockcar drivers who havn't met them, and everyone will be asked to put there hand up, so the selectors can get a fresh list of who they have to look at while racing is on - after all, as one of our selectors has put it, its what you do on the track that will get you in the team, so will be a good way to get the boys into it. Managers are Cocky Walton, Craig Swinburn, and Lee Swinburn, with John Oliver providing some support from the last time the team raced. looking foward to a good year -at the committee meeting it was noted that the sign on night has had the best turnout at a number of years. We also just had a total of 10 new members nominated at the last two committee meetings, so it looks good for the club this season. cheers Hadleigh
