YES 16n..Time will tell 2 c what is going 2 happen about this rule. All these engine builders etc wouldn't have made these manifolds 2 the old rule when they knew the new rule waz in place..They all don't try 2 tarnish there own names.Some1 has c#cked up BIG TIME by the sound of it..Only time will tell.. If that is even remotely true will the culprit be known or will the issue be fixed and then swept under a rug with no explanation as to why it came about.

hey guys, I was at the track and had a look around and i didnt no anything untill i got on here just now, I had a quick read on the speedway nz website and it said on there about three ministocks been done for 15mm blocks under the carby?? does it do anything?? Now i read that 17 stockcars have illegal manifolds? do they get a band like the guys in ministocks did? I mean they pay the same money and get treated differently. not write in my books. im not sure what the other guys got but its abit rude. yet i read awhile back about a (chch) streetstock admitting that he had a hole illegal car and he only got a month band? is the sport "not what you no its who you know"? please someone on here explain these actions.

Best part is that 41c raced at the gp and qualified.

OK, Ill start now.
When I built my new motor a few years ago the new manifolds had been put in the rule book, so I want on my way and made my own modified AU injection manifold to the rule. Easy!....No…. not so much!
After racing for a few weeks I got told I couldn’t run my home made manifold on my car. Even tho it was to spec and within the rules.
I had to get my manifold design clarified by the SNZ Tech Committee. This started a long 8 month process because they only meet once a month, or every 6 weeks over winter. Back and forth they went with questions, they asked, I replied, I had to sit for 3-5 weeks for a reply till the next meeting.
Im not going to to into details but in the end I got clearance to build them. And I left quite a few questions to be asked about how the others had been made to “within the rules” but it seemed to me that it got swept under the carpet.
Rule remits come along and knowing how long it takes to do the job I put in a remit for the change to become 130mm from 100mm. 130mm being the same as all V6 & V8 engines and taking away about 30% of the welding time from this part of the job.
A Rule got in although it was not the one I wrote and was changed for the rule book (T12-2-18(e).
Time for the grey area and going from what ive been told by a SNZ rep Somewhere along the line SNZ got some dyno results of the changed manifold and there was to much of a gain in HP, and the safety and/or tech committee resulted back to the 100mm and this was on the SEPT 2011 SNZ online update but, AS I READ IT, not a rule change but a clarification!!
Confused? i know I am. Ive just sent a email to SNZ and with a board meeting on the 18th I will look forward to a answer sometime early 2015
And for people wanting to know how to mesure your manifold.
Bolt on restrictor plate and carb addaptor to the manifold (no carb) then get a large plate square (dont do it with 2x rulers or a straight edge. A square its the only way it can be mesured right) and put square on the head side first as that where the datum is set from and it should be square (90deg) not 95 or 100degs to get the extra hight. this will give you the mesurement you need, i have some pics somewhere and if i find them. remember if its not 100mm or under. its cheating!!!!!!

Interesting how they are now pulling the injection manifolds up & yet some have had them on for over a season??? Why is it they can run them pretty much at most tracks & checked by official SNZ vehicle checkers & yet come to the NZ's & get teched out....all very strange! That is a common problem with national championships that needs to be rectified. Very interesting point there Zepplin - not sure what changed, as there certainly wasn't this issue at Last years New Zealand champs? What (or who) changed? And for people wanting to know how to mesure your manifold. Thanks for the contribution Apples - I know you went to a lot of effort with this, so would be great to see any pictures you might have. A real shame for all those that travelled so far to attend this meeting with the best intentions.

people should do there research before they post!!! The original approved package au manifold application was written by myself and graham morrison(midwest motors) about four years ago and yes it was alot of work. key word being (approved package) read the rule book about approved packages it overrides the efi manifold straight six rule in the book. so end of story!!!!! i would love to hear the tech guys arguement to that! and they lifted it to 130 at the agm i understand although not in the book or an approved manifold package? ?? hmmmmm some explanation needed im thinking. altho there is nothing in the rule book about approved packages every one that has not got a approved package need to run to the rule book
the rule book i have pink 2011 T12-2-18 (e) states 130mm

That rule for 130mm is under a different manifold.... not the approved package

so the AU factory injection manifold is not a "in-line 6-cylinder oem multi-point efi manifold" then? what manifold is the 130 for then?
