I see the mod guys are in their normal lethargic mindset! I wish one day we had the numbers to stick to the dates set out to get entries in by so that these guys who muck around simply be told "sorry, required final entry date was in the entry form and you are now to late to enter" Would stir things up a bit and may make them change the way they operate. No excuses really as they have all had plenty of time to get them in.

What can be done though in reality? Is a hard line going to make people enter on time or turn them off the sport and the class. I love modifieds but realistically the numbers are too low to make too many tough calls.
Do clubs do early bird discounts? I know some people talk about late fee's but why not do it the other way? Reward those who enter early rather than penalise those who leave it to the last minute?
Is the hesitancy laziness, apathy or managing the risk of losing an entry fee when things go tits up at a local meeting a week out? I am not a driver and don't know the answer but if its the first 2 then maybe a earlybird discount workss.
And if its the latter then what portion of an entry fee is refunded if your car or you are out of action? Maybe the SNZ officals (as maligned at they are) at a local track could be tasked with making a decision on whether a driver pulling out at the last minute recievs a full, partial or no refund. Not that the host club will like that but if refund policies prevent on-time entries then maybe it needs to be looked at.
How did Rotorua deal with late entries for the stock cars? A different kettle of fish I know but what options are available when theres huge fields?

I'm one of the slack ones that are slow getting there entry in i posted my one on Saturday. there is currently no entry fee for entering the NZ champs but maybe a fee for being late might be a way to get every one to get it done on time and all late fees goes in to the prize money pool (or the tracks bar for the drivers entered ;D ;D)

I think it is sad to see the drivers not pull their finger out of a place where the sun don't shine and get the paper work into the track that is holding their championship that season.
Now if they don't get their names in before the cut off date then they should be made to pay $50.00 entry fee and that money should get payed out as appearance money to the drivers that get their names in before the cut off date.
COME ON ALL YOU DRIVERS PLAY THE GAME AND GET YOUR PAPER WORK DONE B4 THE CUT OFF DATE

How about all those that entered on time automatically go into the finals and the rest fight it out in qualifying for the remaining spots.
Reckon I could find 14 others who would agree ;D

I see on Wellington site we are up to 27 and counting.
Hopefully a few more to add??
5s 67s 32GM 6a 78a
Maybe a few others? 22s, 31s, 44s, 8c, 69c, 67c, 88c, 81c, 81a??
30 would be a good number and more than both NZ Minisprint Champs and NZ Super Saloon car champs?
Entry form says 3 groups for qualifying. This would mean only 9-10 cars per group with 6 getting through. Would make for average viewing for the punters but I suppose it reduces risks of damage etc.

Looking at Wellingtons site I see we are up to 31 now. Looking good. I would think that would be pretty much it now. Maybe a couple more to even out the 3 qualifying groups would be nice! ;D Will be interesting to see the groups.

Sean Rice normally runs as 8s, but yeah 80s seems strange.
Anyway..... With bunter entered now could be a Stratford podium.
Top 3 = 1nz (71s) jacko. 55s or 77s ward. 67s bunter.
Speaking of damage and incidents.... Who remembers merv julians start/finish straight somersaults at the previous NZs there!?

Even though he hasnt had the best start to a season im also picking jacko to pull one out and go back to back and another stratford car to place, I remember mervs crash was a nasty one thats for sure. Anyway with only four days out when can expect the groups to be released?

Good luck to all the drivers entered. Im sure you will all put on a great show. The driver wearing the 1nz at the end of the weekend will be the man most deserving.
