no internet at the beach? lol no fish at the beach either, there all on here running with the bait tonight. sad to see Brad won't be running at the teams champs this year, the Ridlands have done great stuff for KK over the last few years. Do you have to make it every post beachboy...EVERY post? Change the "fish are biting" record would you? It's the only line you've got! If you are going to post, at least understand what you are posting about. The Scott Miers post as a prime example. You are inflammatory and more than just a little annoying. To be fair though, I think your comment about the Ridlands may be the first positive thing you have ever posted on here. I have noted though, your silence on Boote, who was one of the better performers last night...the track seemed to suit his car, he had the pace and he qualified well.

Must say Mr Boote does what he does best....enough without drawing attention to himself much. But I am sure the qualifiers will all be taking a long hard look around tonight. One DNF & you would have to consider who will be the one to target in your next two heats. That is what is so brilliant about our sport & contact classes...you can stop someones championship in one swift move...aweesome ;D But Penman don't worry about the comments made by the few that don't quite understand what speedway & Macgors are about, there are far more people on here that do... ;D ;D ;D

With the 'protection' factor afforded by other drivers when their championship chase falters, there could possibly be some interesting 'team orders' after race one tonight - think the Miers, the Joblins, etc. Nelson cars traditionally look after each other pretty well, but there are only two of them currently and, unless the repechage changes it, it's going to be pretty tough for them to get through.

Very surprised to not see 7p and 19c in the finals. They've still got the repercharge of course.
What happened with their heats? DNF's or just plain old bad luck?

Yes it might be tough but cast your mind back to the last superstock champs at Huntly when Booty was the only South Island car there an won with hardly anyone having a decent crack at him.

Penn had a driveline failure in his second heat. DNF. Won his group's third heat though. Ngatai had a flat right rear one of his heats - tried to get around for points, but was a LONG way back when he got to the flag.

Yep, I'll cast my mind back it that....but so will every other driver in the field if he's there or thereabouts on points after the first two races. I just don't see that happening again....not in a story that doesn't begin with "Once upon a time..."

Funny that, I'm sure that's what everyone said back then too. Not backing him to do it myself but it could happen. Stienie under the radar for me.

Congratulations to the 24 qualifyers from last night, well done...there are many top line drivers who didn't make the cut. The racing in the qualifying heats was great - thanks to all the drivers. Many hard luck stories as usual but that is how it happens. The Repercharge should be great tonight but I suspect the track will be like glass so horsepower might not be a saving grace, whoever gets those top 2 spots will have had to work darn hard for the glory. Best of Luck to all, doesn't matter wither you have a P, H, C or R on your car, just go hard and give it your best shot.
Superstock racing was great, Teams Race was great.... I'm sorry 8 ministock races and production saloons don't do it for me for our Premier Event for Superstocks, nor a midnight finish, hundreds of people left at 10pm.

No, he was only a previous 1nz with a big dollar, much hyped, well publicised car back then. People forget that the car he drove last time at Huntly was the most dominant superstock around at that point. He also came out for the one race final with four brand new hoosiers/chrome D windows. He has to be a favourite for this event.

You don't become No1 by dishing out paybacks. That said, remember when Higgy won his NZ1, a lot of the podium guys werent exactly threatening going into the third heat so didn't attract a lot of attention. The top guys fell off(or over ;D ) one by one, Ngatai/Rees/Boote etc that allowed Long and Humphrey to sneak in under the radar, maybe we will see the same thing this year. Even then, if Peter has no chance of winning, I'm pretty sure he will only do what he has to to help someone else, seems to be too much emphasis and hype on supposed paybacks that generally never happen.
