In all my many years of watching speedway racing and listening to the best and worst of commentators I have to say that the performance by the team last night was absolutely brilliant. Not only could we actually hear most of the commentary over the noise of the cars, but they kept us informed of the changes of fortune as it happened. This made the whole experience a major step up from the norm. Thanks guys , and thanks to the Huntly Club for putting on such a well organised event.

They did a great job all weekend. Was impressed to see the esteemed Mr Brown wandering along the lines of finalists chatting to each of the drivers in turn before racing started...and then again during the driver parade. I know that can be hard work Barry, especially with 24 of them to interview, trying not to double up on questions, remembering the relevant details of each, etc. Great job.

I listened to the audio on the net, it was clear and the announcers were aware of there listening audience. I think a one stage they said over 500 people had logged in. Announcers have to paint a picture of whats happening to those not there and I think they did a good job.

Thanks guys. As 1/3 of that team we appreciate the feedback. After a meeting, often the day after I always remember something I forgot to say, something I forgot to ask somebody, as all the prep in the world sometimes doesn't help once the racing starts. I've never been 100% happy yet........ I can say it was a pleasure to work with Paul Hickey (the fifth year in a row Paul and I have either been the commentary team or on the commentary team at the New Zealand Superstock title) and Mintie for the weekend......and I should thank Mal Sines for organizing the TV coverage which gave me the opportunity to fill in for him on the roving mic Now to con my way into being Dave Birdling's sidekick at Nelson next year ;D

Will you have a mic in hand for the Superstock Teams this weekend?

Will you have a mic in hand for the Superstock Teams this weekend? All three of us will be there, Paul Hickey and I are doing Speedbox while Mintie is working for the track commentary team. If he's on the infield he's got the best seat in the house for that meeting. Have also heard Jamie McCarthy will be there for the second night, so while commentators from north of Lake Taupo might be set to dominate the airwaves we'll be hopeful of a good outcome on the results sheets too !!!

He could very well be on the infield, as David Popperwell was out of action at the 248 Global Challenge, I believe hr was injured
