Taken from te SNZ rule book, Teams Racing Code of ethics, paragraph L, page 202.
"When a senior Referee is in control of teams racing, NO protests can be entered into."
A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing, the facts are usually safe.

Ok fairs fair, so by the rule book if the head ref decided to look the other way or say "nope, no outside assistance" when there was thats the end of it. Somewhat conveiniant. Id love to say well done panthers on getting through but between that and Meirs wall riding I couldnt say it genuinley. And im not bitter, I love seeing any team win but winning properly.

I was in the process of checking my info with a SCB Ref, awaiting on the reply. But thank you for the actual ruling, makes it clear for everyone. Doesn;t help it just makes the ref look even more one eyed towards palmy. Ah well. such is Palmy Teams chams. Lets hope Rotorua or Nelson have the good for tomorrow night. What will the ref do if its a Palmy Palmy final? ? don't usually buy into the whole issue, so sorry for my rants but darn.... AJ.

His belts had also been taken off and never re checked. but dont the rules state if you have out side assistance you are out of the race? once you have taken your belts off you have taken your self out of the race farken cheating in palmy once again hmmm when will the cheating stop?

A Senior Referee is appointed to the meeting by SNZ. The senior referee is also from Rotorua. Also did rees have any impact in the racing after the incident... no. Mires went on to win which was enough to get Palmy through.

Im not debating WHERE the ref is from, more that the call was made. No it had no affect on the race but a rule, just like the one you quoted was broken.
As for Miers winning, he was using the wall to get around, another rule, was this picked up on? And hey ill throw a spanner in the works the english driver and Ress should probably be pinged too because for a good 2 laps they were using the wall aswell. What good is a rule book if its not implimented regardless of what team, track or driver it is?

Once your belts are undone, you have retired from the race. Even once they got re-done up they werent checked. once you take them off you have taken your self out of the race its in the rules, i race a stockcar so i know what the rules are

Okay interview with Rees on speedbox he said even he was suprised they let him go on and his belts and cage has a "quick check" of belts and cage and they let him go so basically the call was crap.

when it comes to wall riding is there not discretion when the weather conditions come in to play ? it got pretty slippery out there and both teams were doing it a lot

pete rees stated in the speedbox interview he told the fire marshall to "bugger off" as he didn't want outside assistance, he was suprised when then informed that fire marshall's are NOT considered outside assistance. I'm no panther fan but would rather see them beat on the track.

I'm no panther fan but would rather see them beat on the track. If this is the case maybe its time for a re-write of the rule book and this time do it in black and white, leave out all the other shades that open it up to interpretation. If he cant put out a fire and needs someone else to do it its called........
