Hey everyone. I was just wondering what the ruling is when you have a part of you car hanging off? Cheers.

Depends on what you mean by part of your car.
If you are referring to the wheel gate.
I believe if it falls off your fien but if it only stays connected at one end then you have to come off.

for example part of your body. If part of your body was hanging off you've got bigger problems than the rules. If you mean the car body then I guess it's up to the Ref as to whether it's dangerous or not.

yea i meant the car body. If this is a speedway board (which im pretty sure it is) than it whould be common scense that thats what it would be.

If your stockcar body comes off you can carry on, but if your bonnet comes off your off as its to do with fire, as for a wheel gate if one end comes off your OFF!! Happen to us at stockcar teams this year.

Can't resist can you Beachboy?
I got to talking to Peter Bengston after the meeting, and he said to me while looking me dead in the eye that if the bonnet comes off, you come off the track with it (which was what happened to Blair Cunningham's tank during their race so he was removed from the race), however if its body work around the car you're allowed to stay on. He also said that it does depend on the risk factor.
And, they could hardly have taken Bengston off if they left someone else on the track with their body hanging half off also. Two cars in one night, and the refs were consistent with their rulings. Shouldn't be any 'unfair' claims regarding car bodywork.
