exactly speedway has been around for 50 years, half the cars are built using crap which has been around for 50 years. the rules were written 50 years ago and have hardly been altered since. Every wondered how a saloon would go with a slightly tickled 2UZFE or VH45DE? oh thats right you cant run them because a) they are alloy blocks over 4 litres, b) they have 4 valves per cylinder c) they have too much technology for most speedway racers to comprehend.

You can use those motors if you wish, its called super saloons!! I think you have missed the whole point of saloons? LOW COST You can't tell me that by the time you use one of those engines, with a computer and find a strong gearbox to fit that it will be low cost? To give you an example I paid $400 for my diff set up and ready to go (6.5:1 ratio which means I can run my gearbox in top gear) $60 for HQ 3 speed box, and my engine has cost me about $2000 and is a tad under 400hp. Now can you do that for $2460? and be reliable and strong? I don't think so. But hey thats just my opinion!

Fair call, I was under the impression that rule only applied to Saloons. But I still stand for what I have been saying about cost in the saloon class.

just a guess strx7 = (street rx7) .. You got it partly right, the rx7 piece, but its actually a car club/circut/hill climb car. The ST are my initials. I also have a 400+ HP Corolla in the build and currently have arguabley the fastest sprint car push truck in the country, which will have twice its current HP next season.
