NZ Saloons cut off is the 31st January with no late entries. I hope all you drivers out there have your entry in the post. Looking forward to seeing who take out this title. Maybe another title on the its way to HB who seem to have their share of titles this year. Anyone know who is coming up from the south?

Is it just the standard 3 heat format?? When do clubs have right to change the format for a SNZ Championship??

Is it just the standard 3 heat format?? When do clubs have right to change the format for a SNZ Championship?? There are two optional formats in the rule book - but the second option is the stupid one with time trials and X,Y,Z Mains... which has only ever been used at Baypark - Willie Kay must have got that one brought in. NZ Super Saloons had about three seasons with a 20 lap final heat after 3 heats to decide the grid positions... That one has never been run in Saloons though. (And I hope its dropped for Super Saloons as well)! Just on a separate though - is having the NZ's in March just a bit late in the season for everyone, maybe that is holding back numbers - budgets getting spent up, cars collecting wear and tear?? Hopefully there is the usual last minute flood of entry's and its a good field though!

yep, finals are to be contested over three 20 lap races
the club/promotor reserves the right to alter the format at any time without pryor notice as long as it's within the SNZ rules

Phil will probably take it out again, that car hes got just seems well a head of its time and how many times has he been 1nz in it?? Only once - Brent McLymont has been 1NZ twice in his current car though. Phil's car may have been ahead of its time, but you wouldn't think it to look at it! (Although there is some very clever thinking in it - and its built very light). I remember Phil raced the same car in the NZ Super Saloon champs back in 1997/98 at Huntly - and if I remember rightly he came about 5th in it!!! I think Saloons were banned from the event after that... embarrassed too many people.... and Phil could have been 1NZ Super Saloon in Nelson a couple of weeks ago too I reckon if he'd been running it as a Super! ;D ;D

Can someone please post the final entry list when it becomes available. If the numbers don`t improve they won`t need a Qualifying night!

we should have numbers finalized (or close to) by this time next week.. I'll have the website updated as the flood of entries come in this week.. now, Rossco has come up with a novel way of advertising these NZ Champs.. his idea is to promote this event ANY WAY YOU CAN without crossing the thin blue line.. best idea may end up with a prize or two.. post pic here or on our facebook page.. remember CRV AMBREED NZ SALOON CHAMPIONSHIP MARCH 2 & 3 2012 KIHIKIHI SPEEDWAY or as many of those words you can fit.. below is Rossco & Leelee's mobile billboard.. I should have mine up tomorrow!!!! oh Bess, what have they done to ya!?
