Sounds like the meeting is off till the 17th March (not confirmed)....a real disappointment for all the teams & all the TQ competitors & all the crews, family & friends that have travelled from far & near...
Hopefully we all get back to Meeanee to have another crack at both events...

Easy to say in hindsight, but with that weather forcast maybe an early call would have been better.
I was only able to attend tonight night, but then I couldn't pick my boys up in Gizzy on the way, due to slip in the gorge. Obviously it wasn't meant to happen for me this weekend. Free at Easter tho. Yee Ha. Surely there is no rain left .
Bring it on. Shame the tq's are the same night.

Could be worth another trip to the North Island for me though this season. Have Easter off and never been to Meanee. If I was to fly then drive, would Auckland or Wellington be the best to fly to and how long would the drive be from there to the track?

Napier has an airport - just fly direct..otherwise 4.5ish hours ex Auckland and 3.5ish hours ex Wellington..

So it looks like a drive to Christchurch and fly to Napier would be the best plan. Any idea what time the Friday night would kick off?

Have all teams confirmed they are attending at easter? Big ask for Blenhim, Huntly may even come. Hopefully the promoter will spend some money on advertising as this is an awesome event which deserves a big crowd. There was not very much advertising last week.

Huntly & Rotorua will hope fully be back in the fold now to compete in the teams. I don't think Eastern States will be back...which is a real bummer...

Last year this meeting got a lot of critcism because it went so late. At the end of the meeting on either night most people had left . For others like myself there was just a feeling of "thank god it's finally over". I was cold, way past tired & on both nights when it became obvious how late the meeting was going to go, resentful at every class that was not a teams race that took to the track (because there was still so much of the programme to go). I am not blaming those classes, it was a poor piece of promotion. While I understand the promoters are trying to please everyone by combining the teams with all East Coast Champs I think there is too much on the programme again.

It has to come down to how quickly they can get the classes on & off the track as well as dealing with incidents on the track...e.g rolled cars or cars up the wall.
I am sure if everybody concerned from officials, track staff, competitors & crews are told right from the very start that we all need to work together to make sure we put on a good show for the fans & to do it in a timely manner, it might go a long way to helping make the meeting progress & finish at a suitable time...
