wow, your vid proves Wanganui did win.
85N fluffed around with Ron Tye and on the grass for the first minute and actually got lapped. 82N got taken, and then at 84N got put in the wall, and that must be 14V at 2:18 going past into the lead. He just cruised it and noone seemed to notice!

From my grandstand position I couldn't believe that Wanganui had won.
I went into the pits(after the meeting) and the ELS sheet was posted on the wall of the clubrooms by the briefing room they use. Without the aid of my glasses the els showed 14V running 4th then 3rd then 2nd and taking the lead on about lap 7 or 8. (Those laps make not be correct , no glasses)
Seeing the video I agree with the view of alloypatpus as it does show a V car going past the Nelson cars and yeh they forgot about him thinking they were leading.

Actually ive just watched it hard out again, and i too think that 82N was only passed by 84N when he got spun, but never relinquished the lead to a Wanganui car at all. Argh, watched AGAIN, and it looks like the 82N may have been stopped for nearly a lap after being spun. At 1:48 the car beside the pole looks to be a stopped Nelson car which could only be 82N, and it even looks like the Nelson tank may be lining up to push it, plus when 82N rejoins the frame it looks like he is going slow, like as if he has just refired. This is hard going off video, but we have established that 84N or 85N definitely didnt win it.. |

I agree Alloy,
82 and 84 got off to a flyer, 85 is a lap down when he joins up, Lap 4 82 gets blocked, lap 5 84 put into the wall and 14 v takes the lead. Not quite sure with 82, he would be the only one to question the lead but 84 and 85 followed 14v over the line.
Looks like the result is good.....

IT LOOKED TO ME I COULD BE RONG THAT AT THE START OF THE RACE NELSON DID 2 LAPS I DIDNT SEE WANGA DO A LAPE WICH WOULD MEAN THEY ARE 2 LAPS DOWN

Only other thing, why would the ELS be wrong for this race and no other race and I do believe they had manual back as well.

Conclusive for me, at 1.48 on the video 84 and 85 go past Blair and 82 at the end of the back straight, that leaves 84 and 14v the only cars on the lead lap, Shane gets stopped on lap 5 with 82 going past back onto the lead lap and 14v going past into the lead, 82 needed to pass 14V for the lead and doesn't.
Wanganui win...

Yep Wanganui won , the winning pass made at the end of the back straight when 84n was held and then spun. 85n was actually a lap down.

One thing it does prove conclusively is that Nelson were not 1, 2 and 3 out of the first turn like some people thought last night. 14v was right up there with the TWO leading Tiger cars.....

Looked at the ELS on the Results board in the pits last night and it shows 14V in the lead from lap 7.
Too many people jostling to get a chance for a good look at the whole lap chart.
The ELS is supposed to be checked against a manual lap score in a case of a dispute, surely Nelson would have queried the result?
