I think the Hypermacs have spurred some interest in the class and up'd the standard of car and equipment in the class. The guys who have been building them have been putting top rate gear in them which has raised the bar in this regard. Better shocks, drivelines, engines, fresh tyres. I wouldnt however go so far to say that to have a Hypermac is the necessity to be at the front. Put the same gear into a Halcrow, Lovelady, Moore, Phantom, learn what makes that particular chassis work for you as the driver and youve got an equal chance of being at he pointy end. If you fill the field up with half of one make the likelyhood of them being toward the front is higher !! I agree

To my mind there is far too much square section RHS in a Lovelady, it just looks wrong. ;D Race cars are made out of round tube, not square - so a Hypermac LOOKS better straight away - only stockcars are made from RHS. (And round tube is stronger and lighter per lineal metre than the equivalent gauge RHS). Mind you... HRC built his current Super out of RHS - and that's 4NZ! (Haven't seen him building any out of anything but round tube since though)...

correct this one as a matter of fact so if use could all start your discussion on the edited thread and if some one could tell me how to delete this it would be great.

Both threads have 16 votes total in each one, but give a different outcome.

I'm in the North Island, so don't see so many - Paddy's latest one is probably the newest I've seen, that has a lot more round tube in it - so guess that proves my point that its the right way to build them! ...still has RHS main chassis rails though...
