Panthers; Every driver in the team have all had a great season as individuals with Shane Penn 1st at Nz Champs/240's,3rd at the GP, Scott Joblin 2nd NI Champs & was in contension for the nz superstocks, Peter Rees although he hasn't won anything in the superstocks he has a 1st Nz Stockcar champs/stockcar teams champs, Peter Bengston/Scott Miers again although not winning anything have shown consistent results and has qualifed well. Now as they come to defend their title after coming off a great season they would be hard to stop the panthers are beatable and to beat the panthers the opposition will need luck and good co-ordination
Mustangs; Out of all the 6 drivers in the squad Simon Joblin has the most experience, simon has backed that with a 3rd and has shown that he can still win titles, with 2 youngsters A.Rees/J.Miers making their teams champs debut also after having a great season they will be determined to make the most of it they have also been dubbed the "future panthers", Adam Joblin started the season late and has had engine/technical problems over the past month but that couldn't stop him winning the NZGP, Kerry Humphrey the now ex-2nz has been consistant all year and is not afraid to use his bumper after showing people what he did to steiny at the 240's.
Tigers; With wins over the wildcats/glen eagles earlier in the year the tigers come to this years event with confidence. The drivers have also had a great season as individuals with Harwood coming off a 3rd at the 240's, every driver in the squad managed to qualify for the nz superstock champs finals.
GB Lions; Although 5 of the 6 drivers have been here for a short amount of time and all of them didn't do to well at the 240's come teams this is when they're more focused. Ryan Harrison has been here the longest and was meant to compete at the nz's but after blowing his engine a week prior in stratford couldn't but he has impressed a lot of people most significantly rolling peter rees in palmy. With a teams race against the allstars this saturday we will all see how they perform and whether they can take the teams champs title with them.
So who's your top 4 will it be the busters?, can the wildcats bounce back and win their 1st title in a matter of years? or will a dark horse make the top 4

This is tough without the draw. The 4 seeded teams, the Panthers, the Tigers, Team GB and the Rebels, have a distinct advantage on the first night, but the format which means you've got to finish Top 4 overall as opposed to just topping your group adds another variable. The Panthers have everything going for them however; a complete team in every sense of the word. Difficult to see them beat........
1/ PN Panthers 2/ TBA 3/ TBA 4/ TBA

Whats happen to the great Kiwi trait of backing the underdog? Maybe its just the type of people we associate with, but hardly any of us would like to see the Panthers get within a country mile of the semi's. Nothing against a hugely talented and throughly likable group of people, but it is so much more exciting to watch an underdog win, than just the same old same old. We thought the same when the Young Guns kept winning the Stockcar teams.
So my picks for the top four, with all the former in mind; Stratford Scappers Wellington Wildcats Canterbury Glen-Eagles Rotorua Rebels

Waikato Busters Tigers and them panthers they no the nzsc board well What ya mean by that statement, Im a true n true Panther/mustang supporter, And im gettn so sick and tired of hearing the "P" bashing Get over ya selves. If ya that anti "P" then take out all the "P" cars that have put up there hands to help other teams get there and see how many teams ya would have then... At the end of the day feel honoured to have been able to watch teams racing and fact that ya have seen proerly 1 of the best teams of all time

In no particular order.
Baypark Busters - Strong team of hard and fast drivers. Creating a comeback to a legacy that is undisputed. Should be interesting to see how these guys run it and chaos is sure to follow.
Nelson Tigers - The team with the fans behind them every year. A very strong side though a few members have passed on a couple of the big meetings in the build up. Anyways a treat on the track and they never stop chasing.
Palmerston North Panthers - Need anyone say anything these guys are quick. They aren't defending champs year after year or no reason. Every member can fill multiple roles in the team and any combination of them can get the job done.
Wellington Wildcats - The darkhorse and wildcard. A very underrated team that was unlucky last year and ended up on the their trailers prematurely. (Logic would dictate this spot will go to the Manawatu Mustangs though)
Honourable mention to the Rotovegas Rebels, strong team but I'm not thinking its their year. No super standout's at the nationals or the 240's that I heard. Plus the Busters is a second team from Paradise anyway.
