oh and the hip plates will run from the firewall and 800mm back toward the diff, and will have a 75x50x4 upright at the end on the plate.. i love progress.. next i need a seat.... im hoping to get the firewall fully welded in this weekend so i can mount the motor and finish the top rail.

i made the hip plates up and welded in the uprights at the end.. stripped the chassis down so i can take it to work and weld it up and the diff only just fits through the hole...precision fit..haha
i cant do much more untill i can find some coilover sleeves, carb adaptor and a seat..
so the project may stall out for a bit.. stand by

my last seat was an ultrashield and really liked it, allthough i added an extra layer of CCFoam in it..
not too fussed, but i fit a 14-15" seat..

im pasting this here for reference.. as most jap springs are rated in kg/mm..
kg/mm to lbs/in ----------------------------- 16 = 896 15 = 840 14 = 784 13 = 728 12 = 672 11 = 616 10 = 560 9.0 = 504 8.5 = 476 8.0 = 448 7.5 = 420 7.0 = 392 6.5 = 364 6.0 = 336 5.5 = 308 5.0 = 280 4.5 = 252 4.0 = 224 3.0 = 168 2.0 = 112

i have to say that this build has been almost as much fun as racing the thing.. this is my own design, and done without plans or copying any other car. so its made it really enjoyable... i had been having trouble deciding to go offset or down the middle..the choice was made when i found the cheap option for an offset diff. ive never driven an offset, but i like the thought of having my feet beside the gearbox rather than over the top.. cant wait till sunday to get out and do some more..i may even look at getting the bumpers onto it while im at it. i have the steel for the siderails and will use the pipe outriggers i allready have too.. btw, all the steel so far is Australian tube mills, steel...so no breaking of the chinese kind
