Whats the big deal about riding the wall? Better that throwing clay at the crowd when rf flat. People dont come from the other side of the world to see cars pulled off for a technacality.

It wasn't just Miers riding the wall last year; Rees was as well, and FWJ joined in later in the race.
The Mooney decision definitely had a big effect on Wanganui's chances. Could he not have been told during that stoppage that if he continued riding the wall, he risked exclusion?

Why can Scott Miers use the wall for half a race last year but Dion Mooney get pulled off for2 laps? Reckon the wet slippery surface last year might have been a factor? and interesting you use Miers as your example not Waiman who used the wall for the hit on Rees. Care to say why?

Miers rode the wall a darn site longer than franky. He won the race purely by riding the wall

Yeah, but the way it happened and as Inventory put it, it looked like Frankie saw what Scott and Rees was doing and copied it. He possibly would not have, if Scott and Rees had not started doing it first. I wonder what the length of time you are allowed to spend on the wall is now then, they will really need to clarify that.

I could be wrong, but I thought he was removed for a broken wheel guard?, completely legit reason for being pulled off. That was in the second race, against Christchurch; no problem with that call.

the problem wasnt so much the riding the wall itself as that the referee decided he was using the wall to his advantage.
From the rulebook
R12-3-5 Race in Progress (f) Any Competitor using a concrete wall or bank to an advantage, in the opinion of the Referee, may be penalised.
namely he couldnt turn so was using the wall to change direction and passign cars.

Rees uses the wall often, but most times including last night, he is smashed out to it, and he just doesn't back off so scoots around the wall full noise. But thats why they need to clarify the rule otherwise i can see some issues arising, especially if someone like Rees is put out there a few corners in succession.

Fair enough so under that logic 3 cars from the gb v panthers race last year should have been pulled off. Inconsistent rulings are once again consistent.

there is a thread on here about bad supporters i travel to palmy most week-ends & drivers there use the wall quite often i.e when going into corner to fast and going out wide then using the wall to escape is this not advantages if the public were told about these nonsense rules the public wouldn,t get so irrate
