Anyone able to spill the beans on what the talk was all about? My thoughts are it was along the lines of dont hold back.. just treat it as another teams race. but still would love to know the goss  |

Would either of these teams have had a meeting with any other finalist? i doubt it. It should not have happened. Both sets of drivers are aware of what teams racing is about and they all entered knowing that the 2 teams could meet, there should have been no need for this meeting. |

Calm down. It's a Saturday nite hobby we are talking about. Why shouldn't the dads get to talk to there boys before one of the biggest races of there life's. I'd do the same thing. Good on them. The boys certainly gave the olds a run for there money. I put money on Asher being bigger and better then pete is himself...... He's got age on his side.

As someone who stood to win $55 had the Mustangs won, I have no problem with the teams having a natter before the race. Adrenaline and testosterone is a pretty lethal mix, especially when you're sitting on top of a 450hp-Plus drivetrain. The race was completely fair, and the sight of Asher Rees giving his father a Liberace and taking him to the wall at a pretty healthy pace will have give hope to a legion of drivers who regard Rees the Elder as untouchable. |

A big difference here as Murray Long stated that the GB team approached the Hawkeyes and were going to for forfeit the race due to injury and machinery problems, so the race essentially was already decided. I have no idea how this would stack up on the TAB side of things, but could not be construed as any form of attempted match fixing. |

How many people were banking on the same conclusion when they decided to place a bet? Your statement could mean that due to adrenaline and testosterone the young guys may be likely to do something rash and eliminate themselves, or conversely they may very well have done something rash and seriously taken out a Panther. The problem is that no one will ever know if the meeting between the 2 teams had any consequence like perhaps 'grounding' the nerves of the young guys and therefore lessening that over excited youthful reaction to the occasion. This could have had a profound effect on how they drove this race - it may also have made no difference at all, but that is something that we will never know. |

If I was in the situation i would have told my boy, to treat me like im just another driver in a teams race, im fair game, he just has to be expectping payback (jokingly of course) oh and he has to mow the lawns and wash the dishes for the next month. |

and that's with the push mower not the ride on.. and doing those dishes by hand and not using the dishwasher... and he has to fix any damage to both our cars if he causes it ... and he has to find his own way home from the track along with his car even though Dad brought him to the track ... and he can jolly well forget about taking my place in the Panthers next year too cause I am selling his cars so his mum and I can do our big OE later this year to race in England...
Green flags and green lights and hopefully not too many more grey hairs.

To the couple of anti palmy supporters moaning about the joint teams meeting in the bus. You obviously didnt hear Murray Long say that they had met with the GB team prior to their last race .[ HB vs GB race ] So whats the difference ,  Im willing to bet that there are plenty of teams that put their heads together during the meetings. |

I wasn't in the bus, but you could probably guess it was just the young guys getting told do go out and do what they do, like any other teams race, and what happens on the track stays on the track.
Really find it hard to believe there were too many tactics discussed.
