Most kids would get threatened with no TV for a month, no Playstation for a month or no cellphone for a month. Asher and Jack could be no Superstock for a month...... this is the sort of discussion i was hoping for with this thread not the conspiracy nuts

To the couple of anti palmy supporters moaning about the joint teams meeting in the bus. You obviously didnt hear Murray Long say that they had met with the GB team prior to their last race .[ HB vs GB race ] So whats the difference , I'm willing to bet that there are plenty of teams that put their heads together during the meetings. Take your blinkers off. There are people on this very board, including you Highrevz who go on about speedway putting up and adopting a professional image to move forward. Do you really think that having two opposing teams competing in the final of one of the biggest and most promotable events on the speedway calendar, complete with TAB betting, meeting in private, without officials, is putting up a professional front? Name another code where this would be acceptable, and explain to me how by doing this the sport does not present a potential case of match fixing. Perception can be and is sometimes just as important as reality. I am not anti Palmy at all. I do not support Palmy teams, and I don't like seeing them win all the time. But I have a huge amount of respect for the way they go about their racing. Was there any "match fixing" going on? Most likely not, but you, me and any other person not present can and will never know, and that is the problem. we as a sport cannot talk professional and then act like amateurs, particularly if we want professional bodies like the media and TAB to support us. I come back to the fact that had it been any other team in the final this would not have happened - why not? As i said before, with the GB vs HB meeting I have no idea what the TAB would think of the arrangement, however I would have thought that there would be a contingency for a forfeiture. The difference being that all parties took to the track for basically a display only for the sake of the fans - it was either that or no race, the result was a forgone conclusion.

mcfly have you seen stockcar scenes review..Wals photos? Thatl really push your buttons..3 of the 4 semi finalist teams all under the same roof helping to fix each others cars before they go to battle to destroy them again. They are all close mates that do whats gota be done on & off the track. Do you think they all hung round for the morning in that shed with their crews, family car owners etc and didnt discuss anything that was going to unfold that evening? What it does show is our sport is different it is unique but i challenge you to show me where any of those 8 drivers did not lay it all on the line to try win that title last Saturday nite???

Mcfly , Yes i will name another sport .. BOXING .. The latest revelation of Khoder Nasser meeting Botha last week before the SBW fight offering him $150,000 to take a dive . lol...
Or Pakistani Cricket , where they meet up to arrange the match fixing ... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
You are the only one who has a problem with the Panthers / Mustangs teams meeting . Did the team that you went to support get beaten by either of these two , or were they just not good enough to reach the final.
I see now , you are from Hawkes Bay . And if you went to support them you should be very proud of their weekend . Or maybe you supported GB . ;D ;D

And yes I am very proud of the way the Hawkeyes raced this year. It would appear that on here I am the only one prepared to question the meeting, but most who have commented about it face to face with me also have reservations about it - except the Palmy friends we were staying with at the weekend

McFly it happens more than you know it.
If any one can remember the Gizzy v Maulers teams race about 3-4 seasons ago in huntly when we raced with 5 and they had 2 we had a agreement before we went out ( I think me and mike mac started to block our team).
As for palmy teams where they both had a meeting together which i think if it was 2 huntly, hb or Wellington teams the same thing would of happen. As said it was more of a dont hold back talk to the boys not a we want to win and you lose cause im sure the way Asher hit Pete it wasnt a set up.
As for the Hb v Gb race, GB werent even going to go out as they were to injured and wrecked but a agreement came between them to get out there for there supporters so the race carried on. Imagine if a race didnt happen what would of been said then???
We are all still mates and gentlemen at the end.
Thanks ;D
Bring on gizzy in 2 weeks and there will be NO meeting before hand lol.
