There is always some one ,that is more of a wise tactician than you think ,so give credit where credit is due especially in this race. .

It's difficult to believe the Panthers out there over the weekend, particularly on Saturday night, were the same team that has been largely invincible over much of the past decade. How do 4 of the country's best drivers, in a race they HAVE to win, finish 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th to a crippled car from Auckland? That is a race the Panthers SHOULD have finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th, even right up until the last lap. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I'd have never believed it. I know Carl Hodge is a budding superstar, the way he removed race leader Penn and went on to win was unreal, but surely the ONLY explanation is that aliens had infiltrated the bodies of Miers, Bengston, Penn, Joblin and Rees just after the grand parade on Friday night? Barry B Just one that slipped through, Barry. Couldn't believe it myself, had Palmy for the clean sweep. When Hodge got the flag, I said "where the hell did he come from?". Realise he put Penn up the wall, but didn't think he was in the running. Good upset but threw my picks out the window and then the Tigers got pinged. At least got the finalists right and the winner.

So is the roumer true that at the managers meeting SNZ said they had heard that at previous Teams champs a team/teams had been useing in car communication [outside assistance] and they were going to be checking drivers helmets etc during the night so this did not happen again.. This came from some one that had been told via a manager..

Where there's smoke there's fire perhaps? I heard of the helmet checking going on (for the exact reason you mention) and I wasn't even there!!

I thought there was no better place than the rumour thread to come on and make a post about the in helmet communication checks and the coincidence about palmy not doing very well?! But someone has beaten me too it... I have no idea where it cane from but the "I heards" cane through our circle if friends about that one....

Well I'd heard one team name mentioned and that wasn't the Panthers, but what we can't have here is idle speculation with nothing to back it up. If you name some team or some person, you'd better make sure you can back that up with some proof.

Stayed in the camper an in the car park for the weekend for the first time. I reckon it was the next best thing to the racing. Awesome atmosphere and awesome people around us. The entertainment on Saturday arvo was off the hook.... $50.00 well spent. Even the MRS enjoyed herself....... Yeah Right! Oh and there was drinking!!!!!

What sort of amatuer does that. I've seen some sights but no throwing up Probably one of the few Palmy supporters that were there after hearing the Panthers team manager have a cry over the mic about the refs because they got Beaten.

No mate, I treated her to a scenic drive over the paiahatua track as we dropped someone off in Masterton on our way back to The Hutt Valley. I did treat her to a fillet of fish! She enjoyed the weekend tho!

And where do you get that it was Panther ear pieces from? Or is that just your typical assumption? They did check as a result of a heads up about something that may or may not have happened at another teams meeting not involving the cars that were racing this weekend. It was decided that it was prudent they do spot checks to rule out the possibility of anything underhand happening. Barry B

Barry B their name was explicitly mentioned. you could easily put this to bed yourself, but i suspect you are just as in the dark as everyone else seems to be. it would seem fact is snz where looking for devices. i would have thought something of this nature would have been a major breach of teams racing ethics that would have been dealt with harshly. conversly had the search found nothing, then why was that not also mentioned?

Explicitly mentioned in a rumour that was posted. I asked the Ref and was given the answer I posted. You obviously prefer the rumour.
